Re: Starting the adoption process..where do I post now?
Karen...I have EVERY brochure from every agency in the nation involving every country you can think of. I really, really very throuoghly researched this...each agency works with differnt countries, for example, the agency we are choosing works with Ethiopia, China and Thailand, some ONly work with Russia, some work throughout Eastyern Europe. There is also domestic adoptions and I can tell you names of extremely reputable ones for domestic. Anything you need..I have websites, brochures, etc. FM me if you need anything and we can axchange numbers. Ill tell ya everything I know!!!!
Im sorry that you have gone through so mnay treatments!!! That must be hard...we have only done one IUI, but my husbands morphology is low and unless we do IVF, our chances are conceiving are low. There are no guarantees with IVF and our insurance doesnt cover it..so I would much rather adopt! So please..anything you need..just let me know! There are some excellent programs out there and there is also an adoption tax credit...believe me..you would never know that im a grad student because I have spent ALL of my time researching agencies and programs..Ive been lost in my own little adoption wonderland and its very very exciting!

YIPPPEEEE and thank you Cocoa!!! Thankfully, Ethiopian adoptions generally dont take as long as other adoptions..so I may have my chidren even SOONER!!! Once things get movin,I will set up a website, for now we have to be injvestigated to prove we arent criminals and this can take almost two months..its insane!!

Re: Starting the adoption process..where do I post now?
my friend adopted a little columbian angel last december, while her and her husband were down there she got preggo!!! this was after 6 yrs of trying(Invetro's and fertility) she finally convinced her DH to adopt, in march she thought she had the flu, and no, preggo!!She had a beautiful baby boy on saturday 10 lbs 2 ozs, last thanksgiving she had no babies, this one she will have 2!!! her older one though is a gem. Everyone loves him, and he lites up the room. She was very worried that she would not feel as close to baby #2 as she did her first one!!

Re: Starting the adoption process..where do I post now?
thankyou SOOO MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT! You guys blow my mind with your kind words and support!!! THANKYOU!!!It amazes me how I can express my feelings and you guys understand and offer personal experiences and support...it is so nice to come on here and read the wonderful things you all write!!! SO THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I cant wait to be an official mommy too!!! My problem is everytime I see a picture from an agency on website, I want that child. I want them all. We just hada pic sent to us of two sisters, ages four and ten. They are beautiful and were abused. I want them now too....this is going to be so hard to make a final decision. Its so sad that there are so many orphans all over the world. I will keep everyone posted. The lady is coming out for our first home visit next friday.....how scary. Should I have food for her? I am clueless..Im going to clean like ive never cleaned before!

Re: Starting the adoption process..where do I post now?
Alicia I am so excited for your and your DH. I think it's a wonderful thing what you're doing. Speaking as a child who was adopted, it's such a special feeling to know how hard your parents worked to get you and how long they waited.
As for the first evaluation, I would set out little finger foods like assorted cheese and crackers. Otherwise you could serve mini pastries and coffee and tea.

Congratulations! That's wonderful! I'm an adoptee, and I'm sure you'll wind up with the child who was meant for you one way or another. You would not believe how alike me and my mom are!

Alicia,we can share stories, as we want to adopt as well. I contacted a lawyer already and haven't gotten as far as you, but hope to get there after we move into our new home next week.
