STD: Magnet or Card?
FH and I are having the hardest time deciding. We initially wanted to do magnets, but were then reminded that not everybody's refrigerator is magnetic anymore, including my parents'. We want to take advantage of Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and order our STD's and we're just not sure. What are you doing? What helped you decide?

Magnet def.! I would stick it on the side of my SS fridge. I hate paper sitting around. If it doesn't have a place in the house, it's going in the garbage.

Magnet for sure. the sides of SS fridges are still magnetic and (sorry in advance if I offend but its my opinion) I think the cards are kind of tacky. Like how are they supposed to last all that time? I just got two STDs that are cards and I had to go to the store to buy magnetic clips so they don't get lost off my fridge and one was ruined by falling into my coffee when I shut the fridge. lol

I chose a magnet. My brother & SIL did a magnet and I loved the idea! When I go to friends and family's houses I still see their STD magnet on the fridge (even though they got married last march! lol)

I have a SS fridge & so do most people I know so I got a card for that reason. People can still put them on their fridge if they want but they can also have it displayed around the house. Also most magnets I've seen are so small & we really wanted to show off our pics lol

We did a card as well because we wanted to show off our pictures as well.

We did postcards. It's cheaper and people can display it using a tack or use their own magnet

I got a Post card Save the date because its cute and less expensive than a magnet, I think only your close fam will wind up keeping your save the date. Most will note it in the calendar and keep it moving.

Re: STD: Magnet or Card?
We really wanted magnets until we saw how expensive they were compared to other options. So, we were set on doing a postcard to save money. That was until i got to the Gilt City deal for Wedding Paper Divas and we were able to afford magnets bc we spent $80 but received $200 credit to use on whatever we wanted. If you can afford it, then I would go magnet. But if you are budgeting I really think the postcard idea is cute too!.

I wanted magnets but between prices and the fact that I can't even stick it on my own fridge I went with paper... I regret this decision now bc everyone's house I've gone to has had it magnetic clipped to their fridge :(

I never wanted a magnet, but I'm a stationery snob and a graphic designer and wanted something different. I'm not sure if you saw my post on the FB page, but I'm doing our holiday card (it's an accordion fold card that tells our story through a rewritten version of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas) and in the end we have a separate card for our std. I'm going to hole punch this card and string it with baker's twine so they can hang it on their tree for the holidays and then on a bulletin board or something similar when the holidays are over.I wanted to break the mold, but a magnet can be practical. Just remember, you can always get a piece of tape to hang up a card! ;)
