FH's b-day is coming up and I would love to take him out for a nice dinner at a steak house. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm willing to travel any where on the Island & the City.

Also really good are: Peter Luger's Morton's Bryant & Cooper's Sagamore

DelFriscos in the city! One of the best if you're willing to splurge!! (figure $100 bucks a person with drinks and all) Near Radio City.

The palm is nice...yummy choc. cake, del friscos is really pretty but can get noisy, sparks, mortons and lugers is classic. it depends on what your looking for...

Ruth's Chris' steaks actually ARE made with butter!!!!
I forgot about Franks! There's also one in RVC and they're wonderful.

If you want a great steak, but don't care as much about the ambience, Peter Luger's in Williamsburg (personally think it's better than the LI one)
If you want a great steak and a cool environment, Strip House.
If you do the PALM - the one in Tribeca is probably the nicest - although there's something kitchsy about the original one on 2nd avenue (west side of street - not Palm two)
