Stockings & open toe shoes...

Original post by chichila15

I think it's weird/funny when people wear stockings and open-toed shoes regularly.

But honestly, would this look stupid under a wedding dress?

You can wear stockings and open toe shoes just make sure you wear 'sandlefoot.'

It's funny because some brides will wear sneakers or flip flops with their gowns (which IMO is a big NO-NO) but this Open Toe Shoe w/Stocking thing seems to be way more taboo!!

Good point!!! Lololol.
It's pretty much up to the bride's comfort & security in the end.

I wore the toeless stockings, they were great. If your shoe doesnt cover it totally...who cares, no one is going to be looking at your feet.

ummm I wore Flip Flop and it was the best thing I ever did. They were Platform Flip Flop's so I was the same height my dress didn't drag on the floor. If you think you are gonna stand in your shows and dance in them the whole night u are crazy! As soon as I walked out of the church my shoes came off flip flops went on! Your dress is so long no one ever see's them anyway! What do u have against that? I didn't like the sneaker thing but WHO CARES!

I agree. Both flip flops and sneakers are an absolute no in my book. There are such things as pretty, comfy shoes.

But JMG, you and I deal with fashion every day so its possible that we are just more aware of what people are wearing than most. I doubt the average person would care.

So does my Aunt. I still don't see why whearing Flip Flops under a floor length gown is the worst thing in the universe!!!!??? NO ONE WILL SEE THEM!

It's NOT the worse thing in the world. It is just something that I would consider (and I hate this word with a passion) tacky. There are a lot of things that people won't see. But does that mean you go out with holes in your panties or something? No, most likely not.

But again, it's just preference. Like I said to Chicilla, wear what makes you most comfortable.

Um, ok, but I didn't call you tacky. I said that in my opinion wearing flip flops or sneakers with a wedding dress is tacky. I did not say you are tacky. I didn't even see you on your wedding day so how can I make that judgement? Remember, it's just my opinion, so don't take it so seriously. I am sure you looked fabulous on your special day.

LOL but think about it if u said wearing flip flops on ure wedding day is tacky and I wore flip flops on my wedding day then I am tacky!

Not really. When I first cae on this message board, I asked opinions on reception halls. And someone on here thought that Leonard's was tacky. Now does that mean I am tacky for having my wedding there? Absolutely not. My wedding at Leonard's will be gorgeous whether someone thinks its tacky or not. Same goes for how you looked on your wedding day.

I am one of those who think that open toed shoes with any type of stocking (sandalfoot or otherwise) is NEVER ACCEPTABLE! I also do not think that flip flops or especially sneakers are ever acceptable, I know some brides think it is cute, but IMO it is not even close.

Decide what you want more, the thigh highs or the open shoes. I would go with a closed toe open back shoe and the thigh highs.

I think there is a difference. Calling a place Tacky and a person wearing something are 2 totally differnt! You can't control the way the place looks but u can control how u look!

You can however control where you have your wedding. There isn't a difference.

Ok.

Well like I said, I didn't call you tacky. I don't know you enough to make that judgement. So that's that.
