Being a teacher I have never gotten a X-mas bonus, just some candles and coffee mugs from my students.

I am shocked to hear soooo many people get amazing bonuses.

Do you get one and is it good?

Obviously, you know I do not. But FBIL is a vp with *********and he gets like 20% of his salary (which is 6 figures) and yet they always cry poverty

im a teacher too and my 'xmas bonus' is just a couple of mugs, cheap perfume, and some candles....

I got a big bonus (its my first bonus ever).

I'm pretty excited, it was about 15% of my salary. It will pay for a big chunk of our wedding

I wish! I work for a University, so it's about the same as yours (some candy and cookies, and a $10 white elephant gift!).....FH works for the Gov't and I don't think he's getting one either....or if he is, he sure doesn't know about it!

Nope, not at this job. At my previous places of employment I got bonuses.

i do get a yearly bonus. its heavily taxed. Based on performance & how well our company does (earnings). for the last few years its been about $3,000 after taxes.. BUT my company lost billions this year, so who knows if i will even have a job in a few months!!. Its sick too cos i have seen some of these high ups bonus & its like $20K after taxes. Unfortunately mine either goes to bills or savings. most of the people i work with goes towards a new car or a share in the hamptons

I get 7% of my salary cash bonus but they take 46% tax out and I get 7% into my 401K....

Ha ha this thread makes me laugh! I'm a teacher also. I guess my bonus is supposed to be the progress my students have made.

i am a teacher too...so no bonus..but students are very generous with gifts which is so nice...and also...the vacation is a pretty good bonus...i am in desperate need this time of year

I work in retail and no I do NOT get a Christmas bonus. I barely get a bonus at the end of our fiscal year. My company is a bunch of cheap a$$ people.

I work at a customs brokerage by JFk my boss is a family friend and we are a small company so we all pretty much get big bonuses. Plus i have my vacation days i dont use paid for at the end of the year,,,,So i saved them up this year....

my office i get a bonus.. its about 100 bucks taxed... its better then nothing.. although id rather have a dollar raise but hey... beggers arent choosers!

That's what I walked away with after taxes. Damn, I wish I got it in full though! My HM would be paid for!! Still happy anyway since FH got laid off last week
