Being a teacher I have never gotten a X-mas bonus, just some candles and coffee mugs from my students.
I am shocked to hear soooo many people get amazing bonuses.
Do you get one and is it good?

I get two paychecks the week of Christmas.....its nice to get something. It really helps for those last minute gifts.

i remember growing up my dad couldnt wait to get his uniform check so he could use it for christmas shopping

I got $100 cash and I've only been in my new job about a month. I'm afraid to ask other people what the 'normal' bonus amount is. That would be rude right? I guess I'll have to wait till next Christmas to find out.
DH gets a FAT bonus though...we're talking in the thousands. Just another one of the many perks of his amazing jobs. I'm not complaining.

when i worked in the city this WAS my self proclaimed bonus..
now i get the same mugs ,candles and dollar store crap that the other teachers were talking bout..now one year i did get a guess purse and a bath and body works triple play (u know, shower gel, spritz and soap)..
oh and inevitably some little girl will draw me a picture on looseleaf papermusing a pencil and a blue and black ink pen that will proclaim me as the best teacher ever..

for all you awesome teachers. i was at the flea market yesterday and saw a really cute gift and wished i was a teacher or knew one tobuy it for it was a ceramic (cant spell) envelope 3d top was open to hold the mail and front was decorated with all types of school supplies it was such a cute gift! and only 15 bucks! look much more $$

Yea...I wish they would reimburse us for everything we put into our classrooms!! If i listed everything...they'd be broke!! But beggars can't be choosers. They could give us nothing!

i get a cash bonus, bc of the market this year they didn't give as much as the normally would've but im still happy with it...i read someone mentioning 6 figure bonuses, did you ever see what ppl at goldman sachs get ...mine is 4 figures

Even though I was laid off, they still gave me a portion of my bonus, but they taxed the hell out of it! It came out to about $5500 for this year. If I wasn't laid off, my full bonus would have been double that after taxes.
