Stolen From 2010- Adultery & Cheating?

Original post by flairforfashion

How do you ladies feel about adultery? I know we all hate it but god-forbid if this were to happen during you marriage would you forgive and forget or would it be over? Does FH feel the same as you do? I know this is a different type of question but I feel as though we play it safe on this board, I just want to know everyone's true feelings.

Se i dont know if i would get mad at the girl and go and do something to her, FH yes but not her lol...if i knew her then its different...but think about it, alot of girls dont care if you have a wife or not....if the guy is willing to do something, then why is it the girls fault?? its really the guys fault, he is the married one, he shouldnt be out there pursuing anybody.

I would get mad and throw a beat down on her a$$! If she has no idea, then that's one thing. But if she knowingly does it, she is just as wrong as the FH. Of course FH would get a bigger beatdown!

I honestly dont know. My ex cheated on me and it went on for a few months with the other girl. She knew about me and hated me for some reason. Whatev. i dont care anymore, but back then, after I found out, in some sick way I wanted to get back with him because I still loved him.

But everyone told me to stand my ground and things will get much better. And they DID-I met my best friend and future husband shortly afterwards...

I would leave in a heartbeat whether it happened in the beginning of our relationship, right now, or after 25 years of marriage... I will not tolerate it nor do I understand why people do it. JMO

ETS: I think cheating is anything physical or emotional...

My FH and I have agreed that cheating is a deal breaker. We agree that something like a kiss with a person might 'just happen' and that doesn't count as cheating. But anything more serious than that takes a conscious effort to betray that bond.

What do you ladies consider cheating? A kiss? Sex? A date? I think everyone has a different definition.

What about someone online you will never meet but have very intimate conversations with and deep feelings for? This recently happened to a friend of mine. Her new husband was spending hours online every night (they didn't live together before marriage and would spend alot of time online talking to eachother online each evening). So, after they got married and moved in together, he was still going online every night. She wanted to see what he was doing, and he was spending hours talking to a girl across the country. They were sending eachother naked photos and everything. He felt he wasn't cheating because he never met this lady in person, nor had plans to. This woman knew all about the wedding and had even sent them a wedding present, which he claimed was from a distant cousin. I told her that if it really was 'innocent', then he wouldn't have said the gift was from a cousin, and she would have known about this lady all along.

So, while I could never forgive him for cheating, sometimes people have different definitions for what they consider cheating. One friend of mine considers looking at adult movies and magazines cheating and won't let her BF go to strip clubs. That really doesn't bother me at all.

I have to say that one of the things that keeps my relationship with FH strong is our similar morals. Cheating would just change everything. If I found out that he did this, I do not think I could continue to be with him. I really do not think he would ever do this to me. Obviously, if I did, I would not be with him. I consider a lot of different situations to count as cheating including a secret deep emotional bond with someone else, or kissing. I can understand that everyone has different opinions about this, but that's just mine and I know my FH feels the same way.

Wow! I work with a girl who got married and 4 months after found out he was cheating on her with her best friend who was a bridesmaid!! He was cheating on her before they got married and followed through with the wedding anyway and the girl was in the effin bridal party!!! I just don't get it. Imagine spending all that $ on a wedding and then finding that out! Where do some people come from?!

ok here is my thoughts on cheating. I have been cheated on in the past and i think its stupid. If your going to commit to someone you shouldnt cheat. If someone isnt happy they should tell that person not cheat. My fiance is the only guy i have been with that no matter what situation he is in i trust him 100%. If he cheated on me now i would leave him b/c i would not stand for it. If he cheated while we were married i would try to make it work. I believe its different once your married almost my entire family are divorced i believe you should try your best to make a marriage work before calling it quits.

I truly believe that you cant say what you would do until you were faced with that horrific decision. I also think that as much as some of us like to think that we would walk away no questions asked even though kids were involved - myself included - you cant make that decision until you are in that position. At this stage in my life and in our relationship, i would walk away because i dont think i could ever overcome the broken trust. I would like to have the same answer after years of marriage and children, but all that changes you and i cant honestly say what i would do for sure. but i WOULD make his life a living hell for a while. Count on it.
