Stressing About Duet...

Okay, so I picked Woo's team Months ago and now I'm reading all these negative reviews on him. We met with him last weekend in Central Park for the E-Pics, and wondering if I made the wrong choice...

I called Duet telling them that i read pretty bad reviews on Woo and that it's a bad reflection on Duet themselves. Any advise??
The woman said I can set up a meeting with him to go over what I want.

Maybe try FMing the girls with negative reviews and find out exactly what went wrong. Maybe his style wasn't theres, but you like it. What made you pick him in the first place? Go over that and compare it to the negatives because I don't really hear a lot of bad things about Duet. They are pretty popular, so I'd be surprised they would set you up with someone not that good. I would dig a little deeper and find out whats up. Then definitely plan a mtg with the team and talk to Woo about it.

Thanks... I already did do some research. One girl she said she loved his pics in the album too, but hers looked nothing like that. I just got that he was unorganized and not creative. I didn't see anything negative about Duet's other teams.

i thought i'd seen good reviews about Woo's team as well. Everyone has their own opinion...and what may annoy one person...another will love. Don't take these reviews too seriously, unless it says something like 'the guy didn't show up' or was drunk or something.

Some people can be very picky and high maintenance..and if the vendor's not kissing their butt they complain...i have a friend in the wedding industry so i hear all about the nutty brides..haha...if you loved his work initially then it should be fine...good luck!

Thanks! I'm usually very laid back, but I got some FM about him so that's why I started stressing.

One thing I have been doing is when I look at wedding shots online, I save the pictures I like so that while not mimicking the photograph, I can show whatever photographer I pick (that's the vendor we are trying to nail down now) so that they get a sense of my style.

Perhaps you can do that with this guy?

Actually... D's girl switched teams. She's using Jay's now. I thought her E Pics were great too.

I would set up a meeting with him if your really concerned.

I've seen nothing but AMAZING pics from Duet - I was considering booking them myself, but went with Patken and sometimes, I'll be honest, i'm a little jealous of Duet brides....

I'd say talk to them...they seem to be widely used on the site and I'm sure they'll work with you

Like I said, if after you look at the other reviews and still are not confident then I'm sure Duet would be fine switching.

I did have Woo at first and he did my e-pics. I loved my e-pics, but looking back on them I wanted someone with a little more Photojournalistic style and decided to change teams. This was not because Woo was bad, not creative, etc.. this was a personal choice because it did not fit my or my FH's needs and that is what you have to look at.

I would go and take another visit to Duet, look through the books and maybe sit down with the Photographer if you are unsure.

I would 100% wait until you get your pic's back. It all depends on how well you work with each team also, if you got along with him great and you love the pic's, go with your gut.

That's what I figured I'd do. He was very nice although he was running around Central Park Sat going to his spots and it was hard to keep up with him through the crowds. LOL

really think deepdown how you felt taking epics with him- were you comfortable with him? Confident in him?

Each bride has a different expectation...those who have been disappointed simply had different expectations. So I wouldn't stress about it too much! But what is your gut feeling from the epic session?

I think Woo's work is awesome, personally! I love all of the photographers' work at Duet!

I would wait until you get your epics back- like everyone said, not everyone will love everyhing. You will read both negative and positive review on everything.
If you love your epics, then don't stress. If you feel your epics left something to be desired, then see if you can switch your photographer.
I personally love the work by all of Duet's photographers. We had a crap shoot with them- we didn't choose our photographer, and had a different photgrapher for our epics and our wedding day. We loved our photos, and found everyone at Duet very accomodating and easy to work with.
