Suffolk County

Hey Ladies.. Im not really familiar with Suffolk County... What are some good areas to live there? My FH and I found a nice place in Coram.

What about
- Amityville
- Babylon
- Bay Shore
- Central Islip
- Commack
- Mt. Sinai

Coram is nice, most parts...where about in Coram did u find something?
Dont know much about Amityville, other than its very close to Nassau border...
Commack and Mt Sinai are very nice, but I think a little pricier!!!

I can only speak for Commack because I used to live there. It's a nice town - a lot to do and very close to a lot of things and other towns, e.g. Deer Park Outlets, Huntington Village, Smithtown/Lake Grove mall, shopping, etc.

amityville is nice as long as you live south of Sunrise Highway I dont mine Amityville( I live in Lindenhurst on the border of Copiague)

Bayshore can be really nice
ehhh about CI
Commack is nice
I dont know much about Mt Sinai
My cousins live in Coram its nice place but I wouldnt stay if I had kids really.

I grew up in commack and thought it was a great town for a family and a GREAT school district. I would def move back when I have a family of my own. I think some parts are much nicer than others and most of it is upper middle class. FM for more details.

I go to school in central islip- and from the little that i know of it i would not say that i enjoy the area- the schools are not as good either. I am not a huge fan (and do not feel too safe to walk around there at night alone--- i go to school @ night).

I live in commack and love it!! Great shopping and tons of restaurants. My favorite by far

Used to live by central islip and I am not a fan at all. It's a run-down town IMO

There are really nice parts of bayshore that are affordable. Id look south of sunrise hgwy though.

my sinai is nice but far. move there and ill hang w you! I live 2 towns over.

mt sinai has high taxes though if you're buying. renting, you're fine.

YAY for all the commack people! I just moved from there (to live with FH). I do miss it sometimes though but i get to go back when i visit my parents. Anyone go to HS there?

You have to be careful with Coram because some areas are not good at all. Amityville and Central Islip are no's. Babylon is nice, Bay Shore eh, Commack and Mount Sinai are beautiful. I live in Port Jefferson Station which I love. Smithtown and Miller Place are also very nice.

FH and all of our friends did. FH and most of our friends graduated in 94 and some graduated in 96. FH's cousin is 00 and 02.

Since all these towns have such different things to offer---- it might be easier to see what you are looking for in a town and then we might be able to offer some good towns to look at. ie: do you want north or south shore? close to a highway or your job? good schools? safe? good shopping? etc etc.
