If I am not in a house by mid 2008 then yes I will probably have one child while still in our apartment.

My 'childless' days are basically in DD's We're trying for a honeymoon baby! We both cant wait...and we probably wont have a house until our first baby is around two...

Well being that we will never be able to afford a house, I would say yes - we will always have to make sure whatever we rent has an extra bedroom!!!

Since we are young (22 and 25) we want a house first. It is important for us to be set with our finances before we have children.

it has been helpful to me to hear everyone's responses.

i guess... well ..that i was feeling a little bit like a old poor schmo... bc i cant see being able to afford even a simple tiny house before i want babies.

but then i think... hving a baby will even mean more money.... so how to save then???

i grew up in a house and i want that for our kid/kids.

sometimesi do feel sorta weepy thinking about how hard it is here on long island and well most places these days ..especially if you want kids and want to be at home for at least 6 months.

i am just glad to know that many others will be doing babies before houses......although i wish we all can have both when we want it!!

I will be 30 in a month, getting married in october, this has been a topic of conversation, we are going to wait a year, but I think we will def have a baby before a house (unfortunately) due to the price and the upkeep of a house, mucho mucho dinero! We will probaly purchase a 2 bedroom condo first if we are lucky.

Yes and no. FI wants to buy an apartment in Manhattan and live there for a few years before we buy our house. So if I get preggo in a year or two, then we might be living in an apt with a baby.

He grew up on LI and hates commuting into the city, so he wants to avoid it for as long as he can.

My son just turned one and Im expecting my daughter in August..we have a two bedroom apartment and are praying we can get a house soon..it'll be a little cramped for now but it'll work!!!
