Im getting married the end of June. Just wondering how early should I start tanning..
Does anyone have any suggestions on tanning lotion... Bronzer or Tingle?

Re: Tanning
I would start working on getting a base tan now.
As far as lotions, be careful with the ones that have a bronzer in them because some of them can leave you streaky if you dont put it on evenly. Def. talk to the person who works there, they can usually recommend a good one. I use an Australian Gold Accelerator.

I also have the Austrlian gold Acce. but I dont feel it gets me dark enough. I have the tingle but i come out looking like a lobster for the first 30 mins.
should i use the Austrialian for the base tan and then change to something else. or do you use it always?

Re: Tanning
I agree use the Australian Gold products and whomever works in the Salon will recommend which lotion to use. I would suggest going 2 months ahead of time, twice a week, to build your base tan and then closer to the wedding start going once a week. I would also suggest going to Beach Bum Tanning because they have free tanning Sundays.

the package I just purchased from Beach Bum was I think $179 for 10 platinum tans (I think that just refers to the strength of the tanning bed you use). I am also very fair.....I would say maybe going in for 8 minutes on your first time. I usually do 10 minutes. or as someone else posted, you can always go on Sundays at Beach Bum- tanning is free w/ the purchase of a lotion packet. that would probably be the best way for you to check it out without committing to a package....HTH!!

I always thought that the stand-up booths gave me a more even tan. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

They're actually having a sale right now. I think it ends the end of this month and they're all over. I got 7 for $79. Not the highest one though. I just want to get rid of my tan lines.

Re: Tanning
I agree the stand up does give you more of an even tan. I notice with you do the lay down it doesnt tan under your arms and you get a line near your armpit.
Stand up is the best way to go.

Re: Tanning
For some reason everytime I go in the stand up my face get burned really bad, and I dont usually burn. What tanning salon do you go to because maybe its just the salon I go to or something.

Re: Tanning
I agree with Alison that standup beds give you a more even tan. Laydown beds usually give you small spots on your back that never tan. However, I think laydown beds are more relaxing because I usually fall asleep!
I use just regular body lotion when I tan. I don't smell funky when I leave and I have found that it helps me get a stronger tan. I use just regular Jergens lotion, FYI

Really? I never thought about using regular lotion. I got conned into buying the store's lotion. If it works just as well, maybe that will be something I will consider doing.
I know i am white as a bird in some parts of my body(especially under my arms!), I was thinking of doing a combination of lay-down and stand up before the wedding to even out the tan. I have three sessions left and I have to make them last till mid May.

Re: Tanning
Just be careful you dont get too tan. Then all your photos will look unnatural. (That is, unless you are usually tan...) i know some people who did this before a big event, and ended up looking ridiculous in their photos because they never look like that in real life.
someone told me the motto for your wedding day look should be 'it's me getting married, so I should look like myself. But just a little bit better'

Re: Tanning
i agree with the other ladies that starting 2 months in advance is more than enough time and twice a week. Youll be very tan by the end of July. I never use tanning lotion either in the tanning beds because not only do you stink like fried chicken...i just feel gross when i put my clothes on...i use regular dove tinted body lotion when i get home and take a shower after tanning. I never use lotions in the beds dont like it.

Re: Tanning
Id start now!
I do Hollywood Tans, you can pay 57$ a month for unlimited tanning! I go 3 times a week now to build my color then will go 1 or 2 times a week to maintain right before the wedding, all the lotions at Hollywood are pretty good, I love em all!

Re: Tanning
I also use the Autralian Gold. Be careful of anything that has Hemp seed in it tho -- a lot of people are very allergic and you wont find out til you use it. Also, the tingle lotions can feel weird and also leave you very red afterwards.
I would start tanning now to get a base, btw.

Re: Tanning
You should use Mata Hari Dark Sexy Tan- it's a really good indoor lotion and you can get it at upscale tanning salons.
