I have an italian color skin tone, im not white, but not tan either. I have never ever gone tanning. I dont want to look pale either. I dont think the weather will be warm enough yet to lay out. Honestly, i go swimming once with no sun screen and then BAM! Im tan!
I have never used a bottle tanner.
Any suggestions?

I just posted about the same thing. I think i might go tanning like once a week until the wedding. Maybe starting in the beginning of april. I also heard that estee lauder has a good tanning product so i might try that.

Re: Tanning help!
yeah it's a bed. it's not like so small you can't move. you lift the thing up when you're done. i haven't been in forever though so maybe they have new stuff.

the tanning bed i use is a newer bed and it doesnt close the way the others do, it comes down a little but the sides are completely open and even the top has openings too, the bulbs are alot larger so it doesnt have to go right on top of you, you wont feel claustrophobic at all. I go in naked and most ppl i know do, alot of ppl like going tanning so they dont get tan lines which i suggest

If you naturally tan then just wait you might get one warm enough weekend to be outside. I don't suggest spray tans and I have heard great things about Brazil Bronze but I am still leary. Spray tans work with your own skin pigments and can spot in places.
I don't do tanning salons either, but when I did I used the stand up ones and then just wore a bottom.

I never went into a bed, I go in the standing one...you go naked or with underwear., i go naked...put some lotion on and u stand there close the door behind u and hit the start button. Its not tight at all., and they show you how to use the machine...
i bring my ipod in, sometimes its so boring

When I go tanning I tan naked!! LOL But i dont like laying down so i go in a stand up. I like that better than feeling like iam in a coffin. Also if you have never been tannin before explian that to the place you go. Iam sure they can explain everything to you!

Re: Tanning help!
even if its not HOT in may a couple weeks before your wedding I'd go to the beach and lay out for a couple hours. I know i tan WAY better at the beach than in my backyard.. and i get restless in my backyard and always end up going back inthe house out of boredom... but at the beach i at least stay 2 hours and always leave tan (i'm italian too).
I've never gone to a tanning salon or used self tanner either... i guess its a mental thing for me that i prefer to tan the old-fashioned way

Please don't go tanning! Besides the whole cancer thing.... I work with a girl who tans once a week and even though she is 8 years younger she has more wrinkles than me!
I use Neutrogena build a tan. I can see a difference after a few days. I use it at night because I don't want the smell to stick with me all day, but it has never rubbed off on clothes. A bottle costs like $10 and it lasts for ages.

I like the jergens one that does it very subtle and builds over a few days. Def try some out now, so if you dont like them, it will fade before your wedding.

Re: Tanning help!
Do not go to a tanning salon they are sooo bad for you!!! If you want to use a self tanner yourself, Clarins makes the best. I use it all the time and it does not transfer onto my clothes at all. Also, I would reccomend getting an airbrush tan for your wedding, this way they get all the spots that you miss doing it yourself. I'm not sure where you're located, but Brazil Bronze in Great Neck is awesome. Also, a lot of spas do this as well, call around and find out. I would go well before your wedding to test it out to make sure you like the color and it doesn't transfer.

yeah but it's not like you're going on a regular basis right - you're doing this to have some color for the wedding?
Nothing is bad for you unless you abuse it, IMO.

This is the exact one I use in the winter from time to time... It's great (and FH uses too- lol)
However, for the wedding I am going tanning. I want a totally even tan- that will last through the HM. I think I'm going to get a package at Beach Bum...
