So I'm a 2013 bride and very excited to do wedding planning. I have been to about 7 RH's so far and have 5 more left to go to. I am in love with one of the places and really like a couple of the others. I feel like the food will be the deciding factor for me. Will the RH's let me try the food even if I haven't booked? Or do you have to book to have a tasting?

Some halls we visited told us we book and THEN get a tasting...others we were allowed to schedule a tasting and THEN book. My advice, HAVE A TASTING FIRST!!!! We were tentatively booked somewhere that was GORGEOUS and we loved but we had our tasting and we literally couldn't imagine having it there because the food was so bad! If you can, def try and have one ahead of time so you can see the service in action, taste the food, see how much they serve, etc.!!

Many places will allow you to do a tasting before you book. If you wind up LOVING one that doesn't, though, get a clause in your contract that allows you to cancel without penalty if you don't like the tasting.

It totally depends on the RH. But personally.....if you wont let me taste your food before we book....then its not worth it. I lucked out and tried the food at the RH i'm booking and i'm VERY happy
P.S. You said you saw 5 or so halls aready, you should have asked them then if they do tastings. I would give them a call and see if you can arrange something.

I didn't think of it till after. I saw 5 in one day! But now that I know which ones I really like, I'm going to call them. Thanks for the heads up on the clause thing :)
