i, personally, just don't like the idea of having another person's name 'branded' onto my body. It makes me feel as though we're saying that I'm his property or something (even tho people don't do it with that intent, obviously). So likewise, I really didn't want FH putting my name on him either. He doesn't 'belong' to me. It's a 50-50 deal with us.

I did however like his idea of tattooing a wedding band on his left ring finger. I figure that it makes the ring permanent, but is easily covered by the real thing. I'm thinking of doing it with him. Maybe getting the date inscripted (rather than names, of course). That'll help him NOT FORGET our anniversary maybe!!!! haha

No i would actually do it with that intent. I do think I belong to him. Actually I sign every letter and card 'Yours forever' There is something very intimate about that sense of . . .almost ownership. . i like it.

I wouldnt let him LITERALLY brand me though, that would hurt and make me feel like a cow!

i agree, i think its HOT, i am his, he is mine, we are eachothers....i understand what you mean about it being intimate, its kind of sexy and romantic but totally not in the cow branding way!

DH got our wedding date tattoed on his ring finger, I LOVE it, his wedding band goes right over it. He also got the chinese symbol for father, once we found out we were having a baby. And he's putting the baby's name by it, and anymore babies we have

Once I'm not pregnant, I'm going to get his intials on my rib next to my butterfly

this doesnt have anything to do with tattoos BUT i figured id share....

some girl (i actually know who she is and i dont really like her, even though i dont really know her personally) but anyway, she bit my FH on his back - he says in a non sexual way they were play fighting but anyway she bit him and he has a freaking scar of this girl's dental impression on his back.....i HATE it.....its so gross, he has some girls mouth mark on his back FOREVER...and i know who she is, so that makes it even worse he was in high school i think when it happened so its old news and he forgets about it, but sometimes i get so mad when i look at it its just gross, oh well, nothing i can do about it hahahaha.....i just thought of it because its this permanent thing on his body - kind of like a tattoo

We have talked about it and decided he would have our children's (god willing) names tattooed on him instead.

This could change but right now we think that is a better idea.

i think Dh is going to do this too, he has talked about getting our kids names tattooed and i am more than sure he will. He loves tats and even wanted a sleeve. For his bday he even asked for a tat

Part of Chris' wedding gift was new tattoo. He couldn't wait so he got it over the summer. It came out really nice -- it is a design with his four newphes initials in it. his other arm is saved for our kids. I want one too just haven't decided what or where. I used to want a butterfly on my lower back -- so glad I chickened out or I would have the now referred to tramp stamp!

I actually have a big tattoo on my lower back its ok i always hear ppl say a lower back tat is a tramp stamp so im used to it. One good thing is nobody has really said it to me, maybe bc of the size of it or who knows. It s*cks that its known as a tramp stamp bc its a good spot for a tat

Sorry -- I know a lot of people have it there and I think it is a great spot for one too. Now I toy with where I would get one because I think of my body stretching and chaning when I get pregnant and I do not want a stretched out tatoo.

its ok i dont mind. I hate that its called that too actually, i dont want to be categorized with the type of girls whom gave the meaning behind tramp stamp. I got mine before it was starting to be called that, then it was like oh great

a friend of mine got ring tattoos with her then bf (they tattooed ~ E <3 J ~ on their ring fingers) and then broke up shortly after. they were only together a few months. she's planning to get it removed...

however, a married couple is more serious so its like a tattoo... presumed to be for life

Did it hurt??? I have heard that it hurts so much in the back of your wrist.

It wasn't bad at all, but I also have other tattoos so I knew what to expect. It took all of 10 minutes and I've been tattooed for several hours, so this one was easy

i got a chinese symbol that means forever and it looks like a K and my new last name starts with a K so i thought it was fitting!! :)

if something happens you just cover it up people get tattoo's covered up all the time, not only for the name reason but sometimes you get a tattoo and years later you dont like it. So you get one done over it and you cant see the one underneath anymore.

i dont think that we would break up JUST bc of a tattoo, if we break up it would be bc of a serious issue that would've happened regardless of a tattoo. For example cheating, i dont think someone cheated bc they are jinxed by a tattoo. I know others feel differently and its fine. But i vowed to spend the rest of my life with him and share a life together, to me this is a much bigger deal than getting a tattoo. The way i see it is, if i can make this huge commitment and vow to spend the rest of my life with someone, then a tattoo isnt a bigger deal than this.

I do want to get another tattoo soon, but i already did the couple thing so probably gonna get something else
