You know what annoys me about the media. Not that I am not glued to the Tv right now. but the family came and the reporters came running after them. Give them some space you know.
Is he going to ban the parents from going to her funeral too? I wouldn't put it past him to do a thing like that. F*****g A*******
better than that, they want her buried so he is cremating her.

Re: Terri Schiavo has just passed away...
No one knows unless they are in that situation. I AM in that situation. I have been watching a loved one, my father, die everyday since October 7th simply because my mother cannot come to terms with the fact that without him, she feels she has no purpose. After 49 years of mariage, I couldnt possibly try to understand how that feels. We just support her. All four of us kids have had to mourn for 6 months. It isn't fair, it hurts and it suc*s. I cry everyday. But life has to go on. Our lives have been turned upside down dealing with our own grief and hers as well.
No, no one wants to be 'starved to death. ' But if one could see the future, I cannot imagine anyone wanting to have loved ones live this way sitting vigil for months or years rather than allowing a person to rest in peace. I know my father would rather us celebrate his life and legacy rather than what is happening now.

I'm just wondering what his reasoning was for this decision...
An article said he was with her while she passed. He probably denied them access so he can peacefully say goodbye without fighting with the parents. Can you imagine the tension and hate between the two groups?

My question... Why didn't he divorce her and let her be with her parents instead of hanging on and creating a life with another woman?
that's why this whole case is so shady to me. there is something else to it---$$$ perhaps or fault on his part....i heard there was some speculation that maybe she wound up like this because of something he did to her.
Supposedly she had heart failure because she was bulemic and very sick for a long time.
As for why he didn't divorce her and let her parents take guardianship ... if we are to believe him, he was her next of kin and he was doing what she wanted. Can you see yourself saying to DH's parents 'take over, I'm done.' Do you think you could walk away knowing that your DH was still alive somewhere? If he truley loved Terri then he was doing the right thing according to him.
Whether you agree eith his decisions or not I think that's why he didn't just 'walk away' - he did it for closure and to fulfil her wishes.

That is what the news is saying. The court orders were that they were to have separate visitation and timed so that they don't run into each other as well as what time in the day they were allowed to visit. Terri's parent were with her shortly before her death and their visitation was over. By court order, it was her husband's visiting time and the parents were prohibed by this order, to be in the room.

People made fun of me on a different thread, but I will say it again.....
Her husband belongs in the OJ/Scott Peterson club
Please I know how you feel. I got criticized for voicing how I feel about the B*****d, and they did nothing but defend him. This one person in particular and she knows who she is called my comments silly because I did not agree with her.
Now I'm reading negative comments about michael schiavo, I'm almost in shock after reading post after post defening him yesterday.

Ya know, I said this to my husband - why put himself through all of that when he could have just divorced her and moved on with his life since he has nothing to be gained by her dying (this is from information saying he will NOT receive any inheritance from her death.) And DH said to me, that if it were him, he would want to do what he knows I would have wanted. For ME. Even if my parents hated him for it, even if people wouldn't believe that I ever said that, he would want to do it for me. Maybe that is why. I guess there is no way anyone will ever know for sure and I guess it's all about who you believed. It was such a very sad situation and I do truly feel for her parents and her family, but I hope now that she can be in peace.

I don't think any of us can judge until we, god forbid, are faced with the same circumstances. I just hope the family can find peace.
I agree! Having been in the position to have to make those types of decisions I can say it not an easy thing to do. I can't imagine doing it in the public eye the way her husband had to.

I am so sorry to hear about your suffering. I hope your mom and the rest of your family find peace.

Re: Terri Schiavo has just passed away...
We honestly don't know if he really loved her since they were having marital problems and there were talks of divorce before this happened to her. Either way, he should have let them see her... friction or not. It was selfish.
Hopefully she can have some peace now.

He couldn't divorce her because he was too busy being a loving and devoted husband taking care of his wife while finding someone new.

I don't know whether this is true or not, but I did see a report where each side had court appointed times that they could see Terri. Her parents had time with her this morning and then they left, and it was the husband's time. She died during the husband's time.
Don't know if it is true, but that may explain the situation if it is true.

If you were the only person who was defending someone's wishes...would you just walk away?
Also, to a point someone else made about him being the cause of what happened in the first place. He is the one who asked for an autopsy so we will see if he was the cause or not!!! I thinkif he was guilty of causing this he would not be the one asking for this procedure.

I have nothing to add to the debate, I just wanted to say that I truly hope Terri finds peace now and she should be remembered for the beautiful woman she was, not the ugliness that surrounded her in her last days

Whether that is true or not. I still don't like the man. Him getting on with his life before she died is what really bothers me. Do wedding vows mean anything to him? It's till 'Death' not 'Brain Damage' do us part.
