I love Retin-A micro. I've been using it for years now.
I have been burned though--it usually occurs with the stronger version of it. It comes in two strengths. I believe it's .04% (grey writing on tube) and .1% (purple writing on tube)--most people can't use the .1% because it's way too strong. I stick with the .04% and it's been great...Retin-A is also good for sun damage and anti-aging.
Yeah i guess they gave me the .1% although i told them i had sensitive skin so they shouldn't have...They should just give everyone the .04% bc ALOT of ppl i know the same thing happened to them
I don't know anyone who can tolerate the stronger one. My skin was SO burned I nearly cried--I turned red for days and swollen.
I'm making a trip to the dermatologist today for microderm.

Re: Skin problems -acne- I am sad.
I too for the last 5 months have had BAD skin problems and I am going on ACCUTANE in November for the SECOND time!!!
Proactiv, Listerine, Toothpaste, Differin, Retin A, Minocyclin, Dorsyx, and any other cream or pill or over the counter stuff does not work for me. I know how you feel. You have cystic acne like I do that scars!
Accutane will bide you time... I was on it 5 years ago.... and after I was off it my skin never looked better. Unfortunately it didn't bide me enough time.
Yes, I was a bit depressed on it, but how depressed am I looking in the mirror every morning with a new HUGE pimple... I got bloody noses, and dry lips. But other than that its a miracle drug! And please feel free to FM me any time for any more info.

Re: Skin problems -acne- I am sad.
I feel your pain. Ive tried everything under the sun since I was 16. I was on Accutane and it worked, however I started getting depressed thoughts and my mom took me right to the doctor and took me off of it. Ive been on several anti-biotics one of which gave me hives. The only thing so far that has worked for me is using all-natural products and BC. I went to get a facial and the woman suggested it and so far I have been good. I still get flair ups when its that time of the month but not like i used to. It also helps that mom works at a dermatologist office and is on top of all the new treatments.

Never heard of that med..... that happened to me with the cysts...they tried everything...I had them injected, i got some lazer treatments...and the antibiotics didn't work either...
Maybe tell him that you are concerned about the med and or get a second opinion, maybe another doctor will have a different remedy. Good luck. We all feel for you and we have all been there...they will get better!

Re: Skin problems -acne- I am sad.
my fh went on accutane in hs and finished his hs career with severe arthritis to the point where he couldn't get out of bed w/o taking 10 pills a day. luckily (after a lot of treatments) it's not as bad anymore, but he still has problems with it. i'm sure he wouldn't recommend it.

Just came back from microderm and it was fabulous. My skin feels so smooth and looks clear and glows. I love microderm--I don't know what I did before it.
