Has anyone tried the Murad system they advertise in informercials early in the morning on weekends? (Am I the only one that's awake at 8am on a Sunday???) It looks good, and I just wanted to mention it for those of you having problems.

It worked soooo great for my cousin, so I tried it and I had a bad experience. It literally burned my skin and made my acne worse.

I also have really bad acne. You should do a peel or have a facial of some sort. I use Listerine at night when I go to sleep and that helped me very much. I havent been using that bec I m lazy and/or I forget to do it. I also take Minoclclin pills and use Duac sometimes

Listerine? I'm confused...

I use Retin A & it works well for me. BenzoClin works well too. Its prescription benzoyl peroxide with an antibiotic built in.

Ha ha, you said cocky. Haven't heard that word since I was little. Ha ha ha LOL!

Seriously, best acne medication I have ever used was Clean & Clear Persagel. Not the clear one, but the one with benzoyl.

I was on it years ago- not to gross you out but it made my cocky very bloody, and I had to go for a colonoscopy at the age of 19. It's known to cause colitis.

i wouldn't use that because i thought about it too... but you really can't get pregnant on it.. i would never risk my child to that... i would try something over the counter like pro-active or one like it... it works... and should keep your skin clear...

you must show proof that you are using birth control pills.

No, you don't. Maybe some docs require it, but most don't. You should be on them to be safe, but it's not like it's an FDA requirement. (I sure wasn't on BC when I took it.)

In order for you to be on Accutane, you have to be on two forms of birth control.

Since when? Honestly, I'm curious. I never had to be on birth control, nor did they give me pg tests when I was on it. I know several others who had the same experience. Granted, this was years ago.

I WAS warned very seriously about NOT getting pg on it, though.

FH took it and it worked WONDERS! its amazing! he might go back on it before the wedding because he still gets occasional breakouts but NOTHING compared to the way he used too.....he had to go monthly for bloodwork, and you have to watch for depression but he was fine while on the medication.....the only drawback was that it made his skin SUPER DRY - no matter how much vaseline/chapstick he used his lips were constantly cracking and peeling and he had to use a lot of moisturizer BUT for him it was definitely worth it! I do remember the pills having no pregnancy signs on them though

For me, I rather take the medication and have beautiful skin and put off having a baby for a few months....but if you are dead set on having a baby right away than this medicine is not for you....

good luck!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot to mention that FH also uses Pro Activ - another miracle worker! If he runs out and doesnt use it for a few days his skin gets real bad real quick.....He is the poster child for Pro Activ

wow I never knew anything about this medication. I just looked it up and it has way to many side effects for me to even think about it!

I tried Proactiv and it made my acne worse! My Dermatologist said its the worst thing to try for people who have bad acne he said that its good for people with minor acne.

have u tried proactive? My fh uses it, but it was too harsh for me. I do love their refining mask.

Jessica Simpson is right on the commercial she says' a little dab and the next day the pimple is gone'

I get cysts sometimes if i dont exfoliate regularly The impurities cannot get out and the pore gets infected.

Try a peel, or microderm abrasion from the drem or just a gentle exfoliater (proavtive has it in it). I use mary kay microderm abrasion cream.

of course not evrything works for every skin type, but i would use drugs as a last resort only, if at all. Some drs are too quick to give out drugs

Yes, these are new-ish rules. I would say within the last year or 2. You absolutely have to do this now. It even says it on the medication packets. No doctor will subscribe it without this stuff anymore.

I believe it, there might've been incidents that happened for them to take enforce this

I remember reading the pamphlet and him saying he would have to go for a blood test like every month

I love Retin-A micro. I've been using it for years now.

I have been burned though--it usually occurs with the stronger version of it. It comes in two strengths. I believe it's .04% (grey writing on tube) and .1% (purple writing on tube)--most people can't use the .1% because it's way too strong. I stick with the .04% and it's been great...Retin-A is also good for sun damage and anti-aging.

Yeah i guess they gave me the .1% although i told them i had sensitive skin so they shouldn't have...They should just give everyone the .04% bc ALOT of ppl i know the same thing happened to them
