Re: A little shocked
I didn't appreciate her tone or all her exclamation points! It does sound like she wantd to help with you and get it right, so i would give her 1 more chance! But seriously, her comments are a little snide!

Re: A little shocked
Ok I know exactly who this is and first want to say that remember, things can come across the wrong way through email.
Maybe you just need to be more specific? What exactly is it that you're looking for in your invitations? Are there things that you KNOW you want and you KNOW you don't want?

Re: A little shocked
I don't see it being that big of a deal considering she stated that she might be coming across wrong due to the fact that it's all through email.
Just from the way this person writes i'm pretty sure I know who it is and I do realize that she can come across as 'eh' at times.

Re: A little shocked
i have a feeling i know who it is....but yeah, some vendors are like that
i had a lot of ppl that didnt get my vision....all i said was that i wanted cherry blossoms. but nothing caught my eye. everything looked blah
so i kept looking.
just do whats best for you
try her route and give her more feedback...she can be really good. but at the same time....talk to other vendors, look in books, etc etc
good luck!

Re: A little shocked
i don't think it sounds rude ... the beginning sounds like they're a bit frustrated but i think they are really just trying to help ...
honestly, i know where this person is coming from - i've worked with clients who don't know exactly what they want and it ends up creating A LOT more work for me in trying to be psychic.
i would probably call them on the phone and see how they sound there (just to be 100% sure that they're not being nasty) ...

Yeah I'd be annoyed by this. Eff that- if you want to do 100 designs they should let you, it's their job!!

Re: A little shocked
Umm...I don't like her tone at all! But she's tryinig to get it right and do what you want, if you know what you want. Don't take it too personally...
ETA: I wasn't done and hit 'edit post'.

Re: A little shocked
Yeah, she does kind of come off as a little snarky. Honestly I loved her work and really wanted to work with her, so I tried to be as specific as I could with her...if I wanted another type of graphic I'd say something like 'Maybe something more swirly as opposed to whats going on right now, which is more boxy' or whatever.
You're not the first to be struck that way by her, and I definitely felt that she was getting frustrated with me when I kept making her change the font on the invites...but I didn't care, if she wanted my business she was going to have to do exactly as I asked.

Re: A little shocked
from being on that end, i see nothing wrong with what they wrote. they're not being mean at all.
as an artist, we are not mind readers. and depending on if you're paying them by the hour to do the work, it clarifies that email even more.

Re: A little shocked
Hmm...well, she DID say that things don't always come across well via e-mail and sympathized with you.
Have you been a bit too vague with your ideas? It seems like she's really trying to tie down a few themes and hasn't been able to do that.
Just playing devil's advocate here. The more specific you can be though, the better.

Re: A little shocked
Wow! I would never use that person. JMO! They should have called you and talked to you about 'what you like' this email comes across very harsh! Sounds like there are no personal skills there . . . . .
sorry you have to deal with this!

Re: A little shocked
NO WAY
the use of exclamation points is very patronizing and rude.
if this were me, I would email her back and say
I thought about it some some like you suggested and my main 'MUST HAVE' is a vendor who is not rude so you fired!
