it's obnoxious. just bc she says at the end of her email that she doesn't mean to sound impatient doesn't mean that she doesn't sound impatient. if you think you're coming across the wrong way, adjust your email. a disclaimer doesn't fix the attitude for the first 5 sentences.

I see her point, but she could have said it in a better way!

Does anyone know the original occurence that led her name to be banned from the site?

Liw hasn't banned her. She choose not to have her info here.
Girls who are using her, she stated why somewhere on her blog like 6 months ago.

What the heck..that does not sound like 'the lady' at all if it is her..

i know who that is from also & i have to say that i can understand where she is coming from. she is not a mind reader. you have to be very specific with what you like & don't like. & that's with any vendor.

& in response to the person who said its their job to make 100 designs, no its not. i spoke with many different people when looking for invitations & most places charged per design or specifically said they only allow X number of free designs.

Wow! I would never use that person. JMO! They should have called you and talked to you about 'what you like' this email comes across very harsh! Sounds like there are no personal skills there . . . . .

sorry you have to deal with this!

Usually that follows an event or someone saying something negative about a vendor. Vendors don't usualy go to random sites and ask that their names be blocked,

But that's not her policy, is it? Her policy is to work with you. If by the 6th design for Channa she said well the next one, I charge you. I would've told her where she could stick it. If you are in creative/customer service profession you have to learn how to read your client and steer them in the direction you think they are looking to go. Obviously, she's no good at that.

From what I can imagine, considering she isn't even a vendor in this state or on the East Coast it wasn't worth it to be allowed on here considering she couldn't tell her side to anything.

I can guess who that is. Honestly, I don't think she's being that rude. First of all, she's right - it's hard to get her meaning across via email without sounding irritable. Second, it sounds like she's trying to help you get your vision out - I mean if you only said something like 'try a different graphic', that might be difficult for her b/c she has tons of graphics. That being said, if she rubbed you the wrong way, maybe you should go with someone else that you can actually sit down with and talk to in person.

at first i was like bisch!!!
but then she explained WHY she sounded so bitchy.. and all I thought was... well then go back, delete what you wrote and re-write it in a nicer way (but then I realized I DO that all the time ) but towards the end she seemed a little more 'workable'

I'm not sure what to make of this, as laura said... emails are hard to interpret. but she herself said that she sounds harsh.

just write back that you are a little upset with how she 'spoke' to you. and that you are confused, you do not know what you want and you are feeling really stressed with everything.

now, I'm assuming this is for invites. Do you need any suggestions or ideas with that?

I don't see it being that big of a deal considering she stated that she might be coming across wrong due to the fact that it's all through email.
.

ita, shes just being honest with you and her intentions are clear i dont think she means it maliciously, she just wants to help you, and you really dont have much time left so i can see where she may want to get the ball rolling faster

ohh boy...
that does sound pretty bad.

but i guess just try to be as specific as possible to make it easier for her and u.

I edited my original post. I was just a little surprised and not sure if I was wrong for feeling a little shocked. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: A little shocked

I think tone is very hard to read on emails, however there are certain ways of writing things in emails so that there is absolutely no misinterpretation, like no !!!!s or ALL CAPS. This vendor clearly doesn't care how they come across (and the apology halfway through seems insincere).

I would seriously go somewhere else where maybe your interaction isn't 100% over email. This way you can see stuff in person and see if it's right for you.

Hmm...well, she DID say that things don't always come across well via e-mail and sympathized with you.

Have you been a bit too vague with your ideas? It seems like she's really trying to tie down a few themes and hasn't been able to do that.

Just playing devil's advocate here. The more specific you can be though, the better.

I do agree...its so hard and I know from my own experience that I needed to be more specific. In the end I did find someone who was able to 'get it' off the bat, so we didn't have to do too much back and forth.

I personally didn't find the respsonse to be ultra snide or condescending, it does sound like she's trying her best to get the vision you want, but she's frustrated. I feel like she was really explaining her point.

I agree with this. I think she is just trying to help you pinpoint what you want. Sometimes I have to do this with clients b/c otherwise they'll have me doing ten different analyses! I think it is reasonable to ask her to talk in person so that you can get your ideas across to her more clearly.
