who just happens to be my sister!!! I seriously just cant take her, ive been going back and forth on this for a while, but have tried to keep her as moh because 1) shes my sister 2) my mom really wants her to be 3) i dont feel like dealing with family gossip
But seriously I just dont like her lol i lover her cuz shes my sister but more times that not were fighting (like bad, ive never had anyone call me things she does) and as of the past week were not speaking, we just seriously dont get along and she's so inconsiderate and disrespectful and has done absolutely ZERO for me since i got engaged, nore does she even ASK how everything is (best example ---- she thought i was getting married this Novemeber, ummm helllloooooooo)
my moms away i dont want to tell her until she comes back cuz then she'll get all stressed out, is anyone else not having their sister as MOH?
UPDATE: so i asked her if she even wanted to be my moh since i never really asked her, and this is the convo:
me: dont say i guess or whatever just yes or no sister: from the way your acting, not really me: ok, do you want to be a bm or do you not want to be in the bridal party at all? sister: count me out sis me: ok
Yes I am hurt, but it was honestly just not working. I didnt even respond to her 'by the way your acting' comment cuz that wouldve just started another brawl
i feel better and sad at the same time, strange feeling

I am but she knows its my day and is going above and beyond with talking about the wedding. She is my only sister so she is the most important person to me in my life

I am!! I was her MOH and she will be mine....luckily, we get along....yes we have our fights but I don't know how I would feel NOT having her as my MOH....
I am sorry you are feeling this way! Why don't you sit your sister down over coffee or dinner and really have a convo and tell her how you feel and what her actions do to you......tell her you want her to be next to you on your big day supporting you, not making it hell!

i dont have a sister, but I completely kicked my MOH out recently..not demoted her, kicked her out and i feel SOOO much better...less stressed

my sister is my MOH, i couldnt imagine anyone else but her being my MOH. She is obsessed with herself so i really dont depend on her for much but i love her to pieces!!!

i reallllllly wanted her to be my moh but she couldnt honestly give 2 shyts, i know family will always be there, but she just doesnt care for whatever reason
its soooo upsetting which is why ive just kept her as moh this whole time but i just cant anymore, i feel like shes just gonna piss me off that day and tell me my hair looks like crap or something (lololllll i know she could say that without being my moh), i just dont think she deserves it as much as i want her to

my sister is not my MOH, my cousin it. Me and my sister never really got along at all, and when it comes to trusting her with things and being reliable...shes not. My mom was pissed at first but she sorta knew. Its your wedding and your decision and its big shoes to fill so you have to have someone to do the job right!!!

That's really true, and you don't want to get aggravated on your wedding day. If you have some1 else you're really close to then maybe they deserve it more.

this is exactly how i feel right now, but then i always feel a little guilty cuz shes my sister and she 'supposed' to be my MOH
I guess I'll feel better once I speak to my mom about it

I'm so sorry you're going through this, it completely su cks. My sister is my MOH but she and are are best friends. We get along better than anyone should really... I think we've had like one disagreement in the 26 years she's been alive... (it was over a shirt). But if you don't have that kind of relationship with her then she should absolutely 100% not be your MOH. That wouldn't be fair to you. You're only going to do this once and you should have someone standing by your side who absolutely wants to be there not someone who is there just because she happens to be blood related.

neither of my sisters are my MOH. but that's because they're a bit younger than me (7 and 17 years younger) so I'm not so close with them. My best friend for years is my MOH.
I think that it matters more who you are closest with and are most comfortable with. I think that if you don't get along with your sister, then it's definitely a reason to demote her. I'm sure your mom will understand.

Me and my Sister are 12 years apart I had absolutly no expectations from her except babysit for me while i do my wedding errands and look fantastic.. that' what a twenty year old does best! but i feel you... i cannot get a hold of her when i need to.

Wow... I empathize with you totally. I didn't want to find myself in that situation w/3 sisters myself. I don't think its wrong, it is your wedding and it should be the way you want it. I hope your mother will understand your decision. If she cannot be supportive or handle simple tasks you need help with, why bother? As for family gossip...I know its hard some times to deal, but who cares? I'd rather be happy on my wedding day then pissed off. And with all the dancing and festivities, it will go unnoticed. I don't think your sister will care, and if that is the case...it shouldn't matter to anyone else.
