I chose to do what I am doing with our wedding for us,, not anyone else.

Isn't that REALLY the key to it all though?

Do what makes YOU HAPPY and what works for YOU!

that's just it- why draw the comparison in the first place. we have to remember that these are LIVING BREATHING people we are talking about here...what looks cheap, what looks elegant.....we have to STOP THE INSANITY!!!!

I am using scroll invites that I am putting in a tube....I am hand delivering them. I have NO IDEA how I am going to have the addresses put on there so right now I have no vested interest in it either way

Goldi- as always LMAO!

Re: The difference (calligraphy versus label)

this is just another example of little wedding details that are driving us all crazy

I am doing and coordinating so many little things and the truth is I am sure maybe only a handful of the 200 people at my wedding will notice

But I am doing them b/c I want to - not b/c it's the 'proper' thing

The only thing most wedding guests care about is the food and drinks-

so do what makes you happy- it's your day!

Re: The difference (calligraphy versus label)

I think that everyone has their little 'list' of the most important details to them. For example, I plan to address my invites with a nice font on the computer. I did my STD envelopes that way and I thought they looked great. However, I am looking at spending >1000 bucks on letterpress invites because I like the way they look and that part of it is important to me. I have my top things that will get more of the attention, time, budget, etc. than other stuff. and that's why my wedding is my wedding!!!!

To each her own, One woman's calligraphy is another woman's letterpress, and all that stuff.

I love calligraphy and if I can afford it I will do it, I think printing ina nice font right on the envelope is a happy medium, but I think labels are tacky tacky tacky. They look awful!
