FH got a meeting request, looks like he is getting laid off thursday, I'm absolutely beside myself and have no idea how were going to pay for the rest of the wedding.........as if the drama wasn't enough, how are we going to pay our rent and everything else???

I'm so sorry to hear this. Is it for sure, or just wild speculation at this point? Maybe they'll just give a paycut across the board instead? I'm trying to look for a silver lining...and I know it's hard, but it will all work out in the end.

I am so sorry!! I know it def does seem like the world is crashing down right now, but take it slow. They cut FH's hours about 6 months ago, and I only work part-time so its been REALLY hard for us. Instead of saving every penny from then until the wedding to be able afford it, now we are doing that PLUS we're going to have about 10k credit card debt afterwards. You'll find ways, even if they aren't the best ways. If you have credit cards try to use them, if your vendors don't let you, take out cash advances as close to your wedding as possible and pay it back it with the money you make the next day so that you don't get stuck with the interest. Thats what we plan on doing.
Your wedding is in a few weeks, so hopefully the majority of everything should either be paid, or have been saved for.
You will find other ways to pay your rent and everything afterwards. For now, just concentrate on saving for the wedding, get past that hump and then deal with the next one.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I understand what it feels like to be laid off, I've was there once myself. If you must, put the wedding on hold for now. When your financial situation improves, you can focus more efforts on making it happen. At the moment, there is not much you can do esp when the vendors all come charging with the payments/deposits. In the meantime, look for any part-time/free-lance positions for FH. I know it's extremely tough since there's a job freeze in the market. Every bit helps whatever little that can bring in. See if your current job can offer over time or if you can do extra assignments for the company for pay. Cut down on expenses and do what you have to if it means buying generic brands for groceries, cooking at home, etc. As for the rent, find a new location to move where the rent is affordable. Look at ads or ask around and see if anyone is renting out rooms in a house. It'll cost a lot less than renting from an apartment bldg. Once again, sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time. Hang in there.
