When she told me 'He makes me wear the perfume you used to wear and clothes like you used to wear and wear my hair like yours was...'

I said 'If you need to wear your hair like I had it in high school you have bigger problems than him calling you my name...'

I had ULTIMATE 80's long island hair!

no, seriously, I was. I don't know why...but I was UBER popular in high school....

such a switch from jr high.

got voted prettiest eyes was crushed on (almost literally) by both the football and basketball teams....and danced with every cute guy at the prom...b/c I went with a group of girlfriends...sans date.

the year I graduated high school, I met the bomb. he certainly has put me in my place over the years.

wow, I agree...he 'makes' her wear her hair like kitty's, etc....she is insane for going along with it..sounds like they have quite a healthy relationship

and yes, I got the guy in hs....the first time we went out so many girls came up to me and asked me what I did to get him, and do they think I could let them know when we break up?
of course if this happened now I would have had a LOT more fun with my replies I was much too timid then

I was an absolute NOBODY in high school. I was so far off the radar that I wasn't even UNpopular. I was just kind of there - on the perimeter. I would have SWORN that nobody even knew my friggin' name - except that now whenever I see someone from high school they always recognize me and act like we were good friends? Bizarre.

Anyway - only crush I ever had in high school was on a guy who was in NO WAY considered popular. He was not terribly cute - but he was really smart. One day he asked me what I was listening to on my walkman and I was mortified to tell him that it was not Madonna or The Bangles - but Sarah Vaughan. He said something like 'Cool... I really like The Divine One.' I remember I almost fell over that he even KNEW who she was! I thought he was just the penultimate - but never had the balls to tell him.

Plus I was planning a vocation as a nun - so I didn't dare even think about approaching him.

I make fun of you about being stalked for a different reason but yes you're right... We did talk about this.

Or wasn't it a thread here? Because I told the story of a guy I worked with who I turned down for a date and later met his girlfriend who could have been my twin? And when she met me and heard my name (and apparently he had talked about me), her face fell because then it all came together for her?

I can't remember where I said that. Maybe it wasn't here.

I got 'the guy' in Jr. High. We dated for three days, and then some @ss broke us up at the football game.

I attended HS in the early 90s. Think Cytnhia and Johhny O, gold chains and Z.Cavarriccis. My big crush was the godfather of all guidos. I'm proud to say that I ran into him at a wedding last summer, and he had more rings on his fingers than I did. He hadn't changed a bit. LOSER.

Oh man. Cavariccis. I feel old now.

nope never got THE GUY... I had such a pathetic crush on him, the whole school new (teachers and all)...

I'm sure I did - I wasn't much of a dater, more of a hook up-type of girl - we didn't date in my HS so much as hang out in groups.... but I did wind up with some nice cuties....

I had crushes on such unusual types of guys - some I got and was like - eh - some I got and was like - wow... some I never got....

DH is kind of the guy I would have crushed on - and so many women were into him before we dated - I almost let him go because I saw so many other women into him, and I was so not into that anymore... but, he kept on ignoring them and chasing me, so i was like - what the hey - let me give him a shot....

So, no - he wasnt the guy in HS, but he was the guy later in life. And yup - I got him!
