Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Posted by Corduroy94

We are in the Garden Terrace Room for the recepton & either outside (if the weather's good) or in the Briar Fox for our cocktail hour.

Our cermony is also there & will HOPEFULLY be in the large garden by the waterfall.

We can't decide wether to do pictures before everything at Old Westbury Gardens or skip half the CH to take them at Fox Hollow.

I am using that room too, and the ceremony is in the waterfall garden.

Just a thought...and I had to be convinced to do this also...what about taking photos BEFORE the ceremony??? We are doing this because even missing your WHOLE CH wouldn't give you enough time to take all your photos. And I looked at it like this...we are paying a LOT of money for this day, and I want to be able to enjoy ALL OF IT, including the CH. We live together already anyway...and it will still be that special moment when he first sees me, and that is enough for us. And I know he will still cry when he sees me actually being walked down the aisle, so it won't matter that we see each other earlier in the day.

Just something to consider!

This is the carpet in the Garden Terrace and some of the outside shots...the 2 waterfalls, swing, and gazebo. Steffie is right...there weren't actualy flowers yet, just bulbs starting to grow ...when the flowers bloom it really will look beautiful!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

What great pictures!!! I love the redesigned bridal suite too. they replaced that ugly back door with a beautiful, dark wood, glass paneled door.

Thanks for sharing!

The other thing I loved about the menu was they don't do potato croquettes!!!

I hate them. Stacy said that the chef will choose the vegetable & side dish to use...i.e. he uses rice for the potato crusted fish, twice baked for the filet and either mashed or roasted for the chicken.

And for anyone who is choosing the potato crusted fish, which they call 'Perch Parmentier', Stacy said they can also call it 'Victorian Red Snapper' if you prefer. I guess it sounds better than Perch

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Victorian Red Snapper does sound better! I am about to print my menus so maybe I will change it.

Okay Winter Garden girls, get ready for some pictures I took a whole bunch, including a close up of one of the chairs. i have a lot of pictures so hang on and i will try to put them all up.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

The 1st pic of the table is a table set for 12. I was really worried that it would be too tight, but it's not so bad. There were a few tables set for 8 and they looked really empty.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Sorry the quality of some of the pics is not so good after I resized them. I took a lot of pictures of the dance floor because FH and I had our 1st dance choreographed and we need to practice! I can never remember how big the dance floor is!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

That room is so beautiful...too bad FH's family is so huge that it is considered a tribe in most countries so we have to have all the big rooms! I LOVE the garden terrace but the WG is beautiful!

(I took pics of the bathroom too!!! I figured ppl would think I was nuts but I am so glad I am not alone!!! )

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I am getting married at Fox Hollow on October 31, 2004 on Halloween. I am so excited. Is anyone having their reception in the wintergarden room. If you are how many people are you having? The room looks a bit small and I am concerned about everyone being too close together. How many people did you have to guarantee for the other rooms at Fox Hollow. Is anyone going with the Scotto recommended photographer or DJ? Need helpful info, time is flying. So much to do and so little time.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

i was at the fox hollow the other day and it looked so pretty. we went into our room and saw it set up, saw the bridal suite. my mom said it looked even nicer than she remembered. and the chairs in the garden terrace are no longer green. i am so excited...193 more days for me.

michelle
my fi and i went to see 2 of the photographers (proline and sherwood tirart) and 1 dj (bravo) but we chose not to go with any of them. we also met with the perfect wedding planner florist as well, but aren't using them either. sorry i am not much help.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

michelle1031--We are getting married in the winter garden room this saturday. we had to guarantee 120 for a sat. afternoon, which if you ask me is ridiculously high for that room. we ended up with 132 plus the 2 of us for our final count. i have been really concerned about the size of the room. if you look in the pictures above there is one picture of a table that is set up for 12. i had to have a couple of those in my seating plan. the table is not that bad--i thought it would be much tighter. but also the room in the pics only had 9 tables in it. there are only 4 tables in each of the outer rows. we are going to have 5. even though it doesn't look like it, there is a bit of room between the tables and there was some extra space all the way at the back. i think it will be fine, but i'll let you know how it all works out.

ericia-that bathroom is in the hallway downstairs. it's in between the briar fox and the stairs that go up to the courtyard and the garden terrace.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I only vendor I intend to meet with is their florist. I live in brooklyn and I don't have access to a car that often so I would much rather have the rest of my vendors closer to me...so I may have 2 florists, one for the church in Brooklyn & all bo-k's and one for the centerpieces. We'll see...so I am pretty much no help either!

That bathroom is right outside of the Briar Fox room, on the way to the Garden Terrace.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Did/is anyone providing a bathroom basket? My FMIL has one she made for her daughter's wedding that she wants me to use, but I know the bathroom is shared by more than one wedding at a time, so I'm not sure what to tell her....
