The nutty mothers club

Thanks Sept20yay who inspired me on this

The 2004 brides have a little thread going on about how our mothers are driving us NUTS!!!

So I am expanding this to all the girls who have nutty mothers and are driving them bonkers with the wedding. I figure we can all share stories, battle scars and lean on each other for support and comfort.

So let the nutty mother stories begin. We are all here for you

I nominate my mom for psycho nutty crazy woman of the year!! totally bent on making me completely freakin insane by the time I say I do!

where do I begin...oh yes the 'we're throwing you a small wedding so we can save something for your divorce fund' was a great line...

My mom can't find the dress and is driving me crazy. She wants to be the * at my wedding.

Why are mom's so nuts??

I am going to be either gray from the stress or aggrivation or bald from pulling my hair out because of the stress and aggrivation

FMIL is not bad. she's really nice. weird but nice.

FMIL is into god and angels and church. She is very religios. She has a friend that owns an angel shop and they are making it a food pantry and are thinking of going to croatia over the summer to help the poor and lend their services to those in need (but she canceled that trip because she told me god has other plans for her). His mom was going to be a nun but after 3 years helping the nuns and the convent she realized god had other plans for her.

Megan, My MIL charges us for holidays, over a hundred dollars a couple..

she once said that she was going to save all the dogs hair that came out when she was brushing her to make a scarf .. i nearly lost it.. and she was serious!!!!

My mom is usually not nutty, except she can't understand that my dress is ivory not white, but ivory, and when we were looking for a FG dress, she kept picking out white dresses, I was goign to kill her.

Also when we were looking for a dress for myself, I told her I don't llike appliques, so everysress ahd them on ti, I flipped out, I couldn't handle it.

ANother time she refered to it as her wedding!!!!
I was like mom, just in case you didn't realize it, but I am the one getting married, not you, she didn't believe hse had siad it.

OMG

I sometimes think my wedding is the wedding she didnt get to have.

My parents are 2 different religions and at the time of the wedding she could not get married in her parish. She has ever since been devastated. She had to get married at the hall by a priest and rabbi. So now here it is, I am getting married in the church (same parish as she would have gotten married in) and she is trying to plan my wedding as if it was her own. She wanted me to use her photographer that she used when she got married, the florist she used when she got married.

I told her get a life, this is my wedding. she has stopped thank goodness

suzanne my FMIL can't understand why she has to put gas in her car ... and why FH won't drive 2.5 hrs to her house to shovel her driveway in the middle of a snowstorm

her youngest son smokes pot in the house and my FMIL has had the exterminators out 6 times this year alone to kill the skunk living in the basement

she thinks its silly that people in the city pick up their dogs crap

she asked me once if I wanted to be set up with one of the cadets she works with

she doesn't understand why she hasn't met my sister yet - regardless of the fact I have told her 1001 times I am an only child

she cooks pork every time I am over, knowing that I hate it and says she is trying to 'break me'

People like that deserve to hear crazy sh*t - its the only way to make them tolerable!
