Re: Brooklyn Ladies
Bklyn girl here - duh...
Family's from all over, so they don't mind the trip. Our ceremony is in Brooklyn Heights and our reception is in Long Island...no biggie!

Bay Ridge, Brooklyn here. Families also from all over, and the prices on LI were just more reasonable... :)

Re: Brooklyn Ladies
Since we are all from Brooklyn, can you tell me why they have the worst halls?

Re: Brooklyn Ladies
Bay Ridge here too! No one complained about traveling to LI, or if they did, I wasn't listening. I made sure we didn't go too far out east when we booked though.

Re: Brooklyn Ladies
Park Slope here...and they didn't dare complain. the only place I wanted in BK was the Picnic House in Prospect Park but I didn't want to shell out that much $$ and no one offered to help....now then can spend their money on gas.

I fell in love with a few places in NYC - in Brooklyn specifically the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, but being that I was born with a wooden spoon in my mouth, we couldn't afford it.
I'm in Dyker Heights - Nic and I are neighbors!

Yeah that and El Caribe is really nice. But since my spoon is made out of coal that was out of the question for me.

That is the only place in Brooklyn I would have considered for my wedding, but being born with that same wooden spoon my girlfriend is getting married there next July and I can't wait!!!!

Re: Brooklyn Ladies
I too am in bklyn. I wouldn't say that the halls them self are that bad, it is just that they have no land.....no outside landscaping to add to the beauty, and most importantly NO PARKING!!!!!!! there aren't many of the halls that have a lots and you have to have the cars valeted on the street which to me causes too many problems. I live near one of these halls and trust me, i wouldn't want to use that service - i have see too many valets going throught the trunk!!!!!! (in plain sight no less).

Re: Brooklyn Ladies
I totally agree with you. I do not like the valet on the street parking at all.
