I too am in bklyn.
I wouldn't say that the halls them self are that bad, it is just that they have no land.....no outside landscaping to add to the beauty, and most importantly NO PARKING!!!!!!!
there aren't many of the halls that have a lots and you have to have the cars valeted on the street which to me causes too many problems. I live near one of these halls and trust me, i wouldn't want to use that service - i have see too many valets going throught the trunk!!!!!! (in plain sight no less).

JMHO

I completely agree! That was my main thing - I wanted a landscape and didn't want my guests to walk out of a gorgeous place and look straight into a train station!

Valet - hehehe...I love when you get tickets in the mail for illegally parking...and the valet just throws them out. GREAT!

I totally agree with you. I do not like the valet on the street parking at all.

To me, if they are just going to drive around and park on the street, I might as well do it myself.

I'm using Brooklyn Vendors for Hair & Makeup.

For Makeup I'm using Jovanna from MAC at the Macy's in Kings Plaza Mall.
She charges $150 for the bride, $50 for each additional person.

For Hair, I'm using my regular salon where I get my Japanese Straightening done and going there the day of (up the block from my house) and they charge $25 for a trial, and $45 on the day of. Can't beat that baby! Their name is Expert Beauty Salon on 86th and 17th

It's Japanese Straightening, also known as Thermal Conditioning.

For a regular wash and a blow out it's $8 - $12 depending on the length of your hair.

Since we are all from Brooklyn, can you tell me why they have the worst halls?

[insert inappropriate comment from me here]

I fell in love with a few places in NYC - in Brooklyn specifically the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, but being that I was born with a wooden spoon in my mouth, we couldn't afford it.

I'm in Dyker Heights - Nic and I are neighbors!

dat's ight
lol
