So with all the post about dieting and working out and beating up ourselves for that one special day, I figured it would be a good idea for us to encourage each other so we stay sane!
So, what diet are you doing, hows it going and what sort of workouts do you do?
I currently stick to a low sugar, high protien, no gluten/dairy diet and workout 5 days a week. I also bought the 30 day shred.

thanks, sandra. we can do it! whoohoo 2010-ers!!
right now i am on a diet that doesnt allow carbs after noon, no fried food, no cheese, no shellfish and no beer.
i havent weighed myself since i started 3 weeks ago. i think its a good diet and probably good for cholesterol too (FH and I have high cholesterol ). He shoudl be taking a blood test in about a month, so we'll find out if it works on that.
i was feeling good...but last week my stomach was hurting so i gave up coffee. its been 9 days w/out coffee and im feeling tired. lol. but i also think im fighting a cold.
next time i get on a scale (eek!) ill let you know how its working
I'm not supposed to consume coffee either on my diet. But I love it so much. I'm a horrible morning person also and coffee made me somewhat normal.
Good Luck! Remember its just a number ;) As long as you feel good thats what matters the most!

I do WW. I have lost 15 lbs so far. FH has lost 35. We were both going to the gym four days a week until school started again... now we both stuggle to get there two or three times
Mucho Congrats to you and FH
The one thing I think is the hardest part of dieting and working out is the working out part. Its being motivated. Just set yourselves small goals, like next week hit the gym 4 times for 45 min at night or in the morning, and than reward yourself. Before you know it, you'll have a routine and it won't be as hard.
Keeping you girlies motivated

i'm doing WW, although at first i lost some weight, it seems to have hit a plateau so i was considering switching to the curves diet which i did 2 years ago and worked great.
I go to Gold's Gym in Garden City Park 3 times a week, but I need to go more.
I hit a wall too. I've increased my workouts a little bit by adding more reps and I think it might be working. My diet is so restricted that if I restrict myself anymore I am going to go on a chocolate raid lol

Re: The official Encouragement thread lol
I have been 'on' weight watcher for a total of 5 years. I have lost about 50 pounds. I went to the meetinsgs in the beginning and stopped after about 4 months. I stick to the 'lifestyle' however, sometimes I am better at it than others.
I am pretty comfortable with my weight, however, I have noticed lately that things are drooping, so I have been using the gym at my school after I teach. I also bought the 30 day shred, but have not received it in the mail yet.
Does anyone want their fiances to start loosing weight, or working out? Any suggestions? I don't want to hurt him...

Unfortunately, I am absolutely incapable of dieting. I just have no will power. I try to run outside (when it's warm enough!), and I got the Jillian Michaels game for the Wii fit. It's similar to the shred, but it tells me my progress and weighs me, so no cheating! I have lost about 7 pounds since I started (January). Not bad for someone who can't diet!
My ultimate goal is to look like Jillian Michaels. If I had abs like that I would be so happy...
Jillian scares me. lol
Oh, she definitely scares me too, but I think that's why it's so effective!

my FH took it upon himself to workout and try to lose weight. i think he's fine the way he is, but we do motivate each other to go to the gym, which is a good thing

FH has been working out on his own...I obviously think he's a hottie now but he is at a unhealthy weight and I want him to be around forever!! That's the way I talk when I discuss it with him...

FH actualy felt like he was TOO thin. He is a naturally thin person and has been trying to put on muscle. It's absolutely working. He is primarily doing this baseball camp with his high school coach. It's perfect because he gets paid for it, and he gets really intense great workouts!

My FH is a pretty muscular guy. He really motivates me to go to the gym and eat healthy. I wouldn't want him to get any bigger than he is now. I don't like the way body builders look: like their muscles are going to pop and their veins come out of their arms. EW.
Why not suggest to Your FH to go for walk/Jog together, make some healthy meals for you and him and go to the gym together. Just sneak it in there. Tell him that the reason for the health kick is that you want you and him to live a long healthy life together, and by making some small changes, your lives will be overall better.

That's a great idea... I think that is Unconsciously why I want him to loose weight/ be healthy lately because I am scared that he is not going to live forever with me.
FH used to be really muscular he played tons of sports even in college, however, he has not been working out. I make these homemade weight watchers dinners every night, and he eats like three servings plus a snack. He is 6 foot 2 inches, so he does need to eat. I think I have to start replacing the snack with a walk.
Thanks for the great idea!!

Remember, girls, that you can gain and lose up to five pounds in one day just by water weight, etc. So don't feel too discouraged by your weight gain. You may have gained some, but I bet some of it is just natural fluctuation

I need to get my butt in gear!!!!!! I just joined the gym again and did spin on monday which I LOVED!! And of course will be going more than 1 day a week. I was all pumped to go later and woke up with the flu fh has had it all week. I eat pretty good did ww 3 years ago and they 'taught' me how to eat healthy. Its the drinks that kill me!! I have given up drinking unless their is a party and I hope that helps.
I really needed this thread to get me motivated so thanks!!!

Re: The official Encouragement thread lol
I have been trying to watch what I eat and the amount I eat...I dont call it dieting, i call it selective eating, that way people dont get mad at me when i say i am dieting (yea people get mad when I say I want to loose weight, such supportive friends I have...) I also have the 30-day shred that I have been doing (but not the past week, I have been slacking big time).
I really want to join a gym but i cant justify spending the $45 a month on a memebership, I feel guilty doing it!!!
