The official Encouragement thread lol

Original post by Sandradv121

So with all the post about dieting and working out and beating up ourselves for that one special day, I figured it would be a good idea for us to encourage each other so we stay sane!

So, what diet are you doing, hows it going and what sort of workouts do you do?

I currently stick to a low sugar, high protien, no gluten/dairy diet and workout 5 days a week. I also bought the 30 day shred.

I've been training in Shotokan Karate for five years. I have to take my black belt test at the end of March. So, right now I'm killing myself with that. Probably training about 4 days per week for about 2 hours each day. Kill me now. LOL

I also stick to a 1200 calorie diet during the week. But, on the weekends all bets are off!

shotokan is awesome my sister used to do it but had to stop because she injured her back i like jui jitsu and muy thai

Oh gosh! How did she hurt her back? In karate? I love it and I've been fortunate enough to travel with it including going through a teaching certification program in Canada.

I have friends who swear by Ju Jitsu, but I don't like the idea of rolling around with someone when you're all sweaty (well not that way anyway).

Thanks for the support girls!! I dont think I'm fat...I'm not trying to lose weight. I already lost 60 lbs. As danielle said, I'm just trying to maintain. Sometimes, I still need encouragement to keep with WW though. I want to keep at it so the weight doesnt pile back on!

Holy Cow!!

How long did it take you? How long have you kept it off? Have you thought of becoming a 'leader?' Before I got hurt, I was maintaining, but the inactivity and blues that set in, along with my lack of discipline resulted in about 40lbs in 9 months.

Thanks for being an inspiration and not one of those girls who gain an ounce in 20 years and can't fit into their size 0 jeans and whine about it.

It took me about a year to lose all the weight. I started in September 2007 without WW and lost 13 lbs in about 4 months. WW really kick started it- I lost all the rest by the summer. I've been maintaining since then. I'm not sure about becoming a leader...it seems like alot of work and I'm not sure if I'd have the personality to do it.

Just stay motivated and the 40 lbs will come right back off. If you did it once, you can do it again! My mom is in a similiar situation- she gained back most of the 60lbs she lost on WW a few years ago. But she re-joined and is working at it again.
