So with all the post about dieting and working out and beating up ourselves for that one special day, I figured it would be a good idea for us to encourage each other so we stay sane!
So, what diet are you doing, hows it going and what sort of workouts do you do?
I currently stick to a low sugar, high protien, no gluten/dairy diet and workout 5 days a week. I also bought the 30 day shred.

BTW, I just ate a gluten free cookie and I want to throw up. Yummy nothing like cardboard.
I'm using up the NutriSystem food I bought but never ate and converting it to WW points, so I know exactly how you feel!!

I need to get my butt in gear!!!!!! I just joined the gym again and did spin on monday which I LOVED!! And of course will be going more than 1 day a week. I was all pumped to go later and woke up with the flu fh has had it all week. I eat pretty good did ww 3 years ago and they 'taught' me how to eat healthy. Its the drinks that kill me!! I have given up drinking unless their is a party and I hope that helps.
I really needed this thread to get me motivated so thanks!!!
Joining a wine club and buying a 'beverage cooler' the day after getting engaged might not have been such a great idea afterall!!

I have been 'on' weight watcher for a total of 5 years. I have lost about 50 pounds. I went to the meetinsgs in the beginning and stopped after about 4 months. I stick to the 'lifestyle' however, sometimes I am better at it than others.
I am pretty comfortable with my weight, however, I have noticed lately that things are drooping, so I have been using the gym at my school after I teach. I also bought the 30 day shred, but have not received it in the mail yet.
Does anyone want their fiances to start loosing weight, or working out? Any suggestions? I don't want to hurt him...
Yes I'm glad you mentioned that! I seriously love him so much he is just amazing to me and I'm sure you feel the same about yours. FH has always had weight issues and has def gained a decent amount since we started dating and with his busy hours at work. The thing is that I am soo into working out I love it and am pretty conscious about keeping fit. I just wish he felt the same, it's not even about him being ripped and all that just about wanting to be healthy and fit. I can tell it gets to his self conscious and I just want him to be confident and comfortable but don't know exactly how to push it either bc I know it's a sensitive subject and I don't want to hurt him either...

Here's the thing...it's not like if you bring it up all of a sudden he'll say 'I gained weight?' He knows, so why beat around the bush you know??
Make it a couple's activity...motivate each other, I've found that works for us...

My Mom and I go on Sunday mornings to Bay Shore. Not the optimal day for loss, but as long as you understand that slow and steady wins the race, I'm hoping it will all come off in the end.

Just got on the scale this morning...and it said I gained almost 4 lbs since Sunday. I didn't even eat that much in the past 3 days...but I did go out to eat yesterday. I really gotta start dieting hardcore again
Don't forget the muscle weights more than fat. You could be toning up.

I think what makes it most difficult is that he lives in Long Island and I live in Staten Island and his mom is a delicious cook and cooks all these fattening things. I see him on the weekends and two days are great to do it but it's tough bc I usually use those as my cheat days sometimes lol. I don't know I feel if we lived together or were closer I would so drag him to the gym with me more often. I'm trying to get him into a routine of going before work it's just hard not being there to help see it through. It's def something that he wants to change too and I don't really have to beat around the bush but he was teased A LOT when he was little so I know it hits a nerve. I will keep trying thanks for the help and for this awesome thread for me and FH

I understand, FH has always had a weight issue also. You're right about it being tough not seeing each other through the week...
Maybe have a competition...FH is very competitive so he likes a challenge...

That's a good idea. I guess it frustrates me bc he lost so much weight before I knew him. Then we started dating and the typical happens, you become comfortable and gain a few pounds. I just need to get him motivated again, maybe a competition will help that. I guess I feel guilty too bc it's like before me you did great and now you're throwing all your hard work away bc I don't have to watch as much as he does and in the beginning all we did was eat. Maybe I can explain that to him too and he'll feel bad that I feel bad and then it will work out lol.

I've been training in Shotokan Karate for five years. I have to take my black belt test at the end of March. So, right now I'm killing myself with that. Probably training about 4 days per week for about 2 hours each day. Kill me now. LOL
I also stick to a 1200 calorie diet during the week. But, on the weekends all bets are off!

I did that last night... I asked him to go for a walk with our dog, and after 30 minutes, he took the short cut home... grrr... I usually walk our dog for an hour a night (well when it is warm enough to)...
any suggestions... i guess 30 minutes is better than nothing
