Ladies, let's help each other plan our HMs. Since we all are mainly going to the same islands (I'm going to Maui and Kauai, and I know lots are too- also Oahu is popular among us) let's post the activites/tours that we find interesting so we can help each other.

Re: The OFFICIAL Hawaii Honeymooners thread!!!!
We are almost ready to book (I have the hotel rooms on hold)!
1 day in Oahu - at the Sheraton Waikiki. Just enough time to see Pearl Harbor before we head off to Maui. 6 days in Maui at the Sheraton 6 days in Kauai at the Hyatt
I've been reading some bad things about the contruction going on at the Hyatt right now, but they promised that it would be done by the end of the winter.
I am looking for the best deals on interisland flights and car rentals right now.
So far, this is the best I've found: $68 per inter-island flight $42 per day for a convertible
Any opinions on these prices or advice to get them cheaper would be great! Thanks. I can't wait for the honeymoon!!!

Re: The OFFICIAL Hawaii Honeymooners thread!!!!
WAHOO! I just booked our hotels today Oahu -- Outrigger Waikiki Maui -- Four Seasons (you only live once!)
This thread is soooo helpful-- Thank you for sharing everybody
FYI--another guide book I bought was 'Maui Revealed.' It's recommended constantly on www.fodors.com. I think there's a 'Revealed' book for every island. When you buy the book, you get a password inside to the authors' website where they list more hotel and restaurant reviews and have updated info.

Did anyone else do or plan on doing the bike tour in Maui? I keep reading reviews on Fodors and I am 50/50 on doing it. How narrow are the roads, do you follow each other down the road, which tours are better (safety, bikes better..). Dawnie thanks for your review. Who did you book your tour with? I hear good things on Maui Down Hill.

Re: The OFFICIAL Hawaii Honeymooners thread!!!!
Any info on Kauai tours? We're going next month (not our official honeymoon, but all our trips are like honeymoons )
btw, we rented a convertible on priceline for $35/day. I big $15 for a compact car and won, and then upgraded to the convertible for $20 more.

Re: The OFFICIAL Hawaii Honeymooners thread!!!!
ooo Lisa thanks for that tip. I never tried to bid for car rentals before. Sassy wrote up a horse back riding tour in this thread for Kauai. I always search on Fodors website. Alot of people put their reports in full detail.

Re: The OFFICIAL Hawaii Honeymooners thread!!!!
Hi all! I just found this thread and am so happy!!! We are in the process of planning & booking our trip to Hawaii for next July. Some questions:
Did you use a travel agent? If so- who and where are they located?
Has anyone used Blue-Hawaii as a travel agent?
Which hotel in Maui did you stay in? Did you love it? Why or why not?
*** We're planning to fly into Maui and stay there for 5 nights. Hotels we are considering are: Hyatt, Westin, Four Seasons. Then, we're going to Kaui and staying in Kaui for 5 nights at the Hyatt. Then, we're going to go to Ohau for 1 night, go to Pearl Harbor the next day and fly home that night.
What do you all think? Anything you would change? Any suggestions on the hotel in Maui?
THANKS!!!! Mindy

Then we are heading to Maui Sheraton for 3 nights. Can't wait...just three more months!! Anyone stay at Sheraton Kuai? How did you like it?

Re: The OFFICIAL Hawaii Honeymooners thread!!!!
Hi!! Mindy: We stayed at the Hyatt in Maui and lOVED it!!! There was a little construction going on when we were there. Nothing that affected the rooms but we had to walk a little further to get the the parking lot. We needed it anyways after all the eating we did. We had a mountain view room and we also overlooked the luau so every night we got to enjoy the Hawaiian music The bed was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO comfortable!! They had a simmons pillow top mattress that was so great and comfortable. Our package included breakfast so every morning we ate there. It was a great restaurant with lots to choose from. It overlooked a pond with a waterfall, really pretty. The Hyatt in Kuaui had better grounds (but Maui's grounds were very pretty too) and more pools, overall just bigger. The room we had in Kuaui was a better view (deluxe oceanfront) but we honestly liked the room in Maui better.
We still haven't uploaded our pictures yet but when we do I will post them.
We used SUzanne at Liberty Travel in Merrick and she was GREAT!!!
ANy questions, just ask You'll have a wonderful time!!!

Re: The OFFICIAL Hawaii Honeymooners thread!!!!
Okay, we are last minute bride and grooms. We pretty much have our flight secured (we were offered miles from FH's dad or buddy passes from FH's friend) We have until October 16, 2003 to secure our reservation. We want to island hop to possibly 3 islands staying approx 3 days in each. Anyone else do this? And did you find it a pain to pack up and leave? I am soo excited! Can't wait. And on the way back we are staying in San Francisco for 2 nights.
