I know the first time I saw this topic talked about on here I was overwhelmed to know that I wasn't the only person on earth suffering with IBS.
I have heard from a few other girls on FM asking about this topic - so I thought i'd make an official thread about it.
Come here to talk about new meds you are on, foods you've had success with, etc.

Oh God - that STINKS!!!!
What meds have you been on? I used to LIVE on Immodium, but have since become allergic to it.
They tried me on Lonox, didn't work & then Pamine Forte & that worked for maybe 2 days & then stopped...

I forgot the name and I can't find the pill bottle (you can see how often I use it), but it's a little green pill and slightly resembles prozac. I don't like taking it because it makes me really sleepy and kind of out of it, almost like being on benodryl.

do you have excema? FH's doctor says he finds a corrolation (sp?) between people with IBS and excema

no i don't...that's interesting though... I think i vaguely remember the lonox making me sleepy...i'll have to find the bottle!

I've had mild bouts of excema.... mainly on the insides of my elbows and I've had a dry patch on my face. I have very very dry skin....

actually, I think that is the name. It sounds familiar. I feel like there really is no medication that will help without the awful side effects I could have sworn there were more girls than just us that suffer from this

I have IBD and am on Asacol.. it really helps and I don't know if I have any bad side effects. if there are some the good outweighs the bad.
Edit: Ive gotten different samples of creams for the excema but the funny thing is, the only thing that has helped (permanently got rid of the dry patch on my cheek and really helped with my elbows too) is Velocity by Mary Kay. It's like a body lotion Gel... I paid like $10 for a big bottle of it on ebay.

lol of all the things to remember about heather I remember that. Well that and that she likes squirrels but that's kind of hard to forget.

I'm having an upper endoscopy on Wednesday of next week - the doc is going to do a biopsy of my intestines & make sure there isn't something else going on (seliac, etc) and causing malabsorption...i don't have faith - but if it was ANYTHING other than IBS - i'd throw a party!!

I have IBS, was diagnosed recently. I hate my life now and I spent an hour crying to Jess via FM.
I think it's really funny how bluegreen said she has EXEMA. Ha ha, I have that on my hand and it acts up all the time. I'm so hating my life right now. Between dried up fingers that itch and nonstop bathroom runs, I've become very depressed and spend less time w/my friends.
I love being in bed in my PJs and watching TV lately. It's so sad.

I just had a endoscopy and colonoscopy. I have gastritis and IBS!! Fun, fun, fun....I'm a runner and I'm getting horrible pains when I try to exercise. I've been on a drug to slow down my digestive organs and I'm going back Nov. 6 to go on an acid blocker which they think is causing me the pain when I run...

yea actually I think I developed a very slight case of agoraphobia since the IBS. It's so bad.

I have Crohns (IBD) and was diagnosed back in '03. If anyone wants, feel free to FM me. I've been through everything and back and am doing pretty well. I just don't want to get into too much graphic detail out here

My sister in law is lactose intolerant & takes Lactaid and is okay when she does - can eat ice cream, etc...
