JT was amazing! They were so great the day of our wedding Everything was phenomenal - and I felt like royalty that day!

I can't wait to see the new room! I'm sure its going to be be gorgeous!!

I wasn't thrilled with their cake choices either but we didn't want to spend any more money on the wedding so we just went with what they had.....It's funny b/c in the end I actually LOVED our cake I was obsessed with it hahahaha and it matched our room perfectly with the silver metallic icing! Yeah, it wasn't like the cakes you see on TV or anything crazy BUT it was cute and I was really happy with it - and it tasted amazing - we love banana cake so we got vanilla cake, banana flavor in the middle with fresh banana and buttercream icing - it was delicious....

Oh so I have my first question, I thought I heard Mike, my bm say that there is a piano player for the CH but that doesnt seem right since the piano is in the enterence. Anyone know?

yeah he is in the lobby playing the piano during CH. Basically while guests are walking into JT they see him and hear him playing.

Ok, yeah, thats what I thought but now do you remember if you could hear it in the actual cH room...I would think not. Did you have seperate ch music?

its noisy in the ch room so i dont think you can hear it, i dont remember hearing it. Well we had the dj play music during ch, they provide the music. Again, this is a time everybody is busy eating, talking to eachother and saying their hello's that most dont even pay attention to the music being played so dont worry.

yes it is dortoni's. they wont give you credit I just was speaking to them about. Im sooo freaking pissed. They told me they wont give me credit for anyother place and that the only credit i would get is the amt of guests i have for a different cake at dortoni's. i want to kill them. bc when i booked with them i was excited that i didnt have to but a cake bc it was incl. now i learned that you get freaking chessey cake that i can do at home. dont get me wrong they had beautiful cakes there at the place but you have to pay for them. and the nerve of JT telling me to come in and they had a 20page book that had cakes. but six of them are the same has what i saw at dortoni's. I cant vent enough about this. My whole day was ruined about this lie.

Okay so lets say I don't want a cake at all from Dortoni's what will happen? Will they give you something else in it's place? I'm thinking of getting my cake from another bakery. Meaning that I will pay for it out of my pocket because I refuse to work w/ Dortoni's.

I didnt get my cake through JT which they get from dortoni's. Instead I got a cake from cakes by Jay since i really wanted a particular cake. What JT did was since i didnt get a cake through them, i got extra stuff at CH. I brought this up at our final menu with Anna, she went over our cake choices and i told her that we got our cake from cakes by jay and wont need a cake from them. She told me thats fine and since i didnt get it from them they will add like 2 or 3 extra stations at our CH to make up for it. They only use $250 of our money towards the cake so not like you will get alot.

TO SUSAN: i saw your post, but yeah you are not going to get an extravagant cake from JT without pay extra, like i said above, with their deal with dortoni's they only take $250 of your money towards the cake and with $250 no bakery can do much with it so it usually is basic or more simple and no fondant, if you want that you have to pay extra. I went with an outside vendor for cake and it was $8 a slice so fondant cakes are pricey and thats why dortoni;s wont do it for such a small amount. I will say that $850 extra to pay is not bad, bc if you go to any other outside vendor for a fondant extravagant cake, it will be more than that. I paid $8 a slice for 275 guests. ANd $8 a slice is average, there are places that charge even more than that.

That i dont know. but the way they were acting like yesterday i thinking no they wont give anything in its place bc thier acting like thier doing you a favor by giving you a free cake. BS. Im sooo not happy about this

well like i said, when i had to go in 2 weeks before my wedding to do our final menu, thats when i was told that they will just add like 2 extra stations at CH to make up for it. I will say that from the day i booked, i brought up the fact that i wanted a mad hatter cake and will go with an outside vendor and wont get it from them and they didnt say i would get anything to make up for it so all along i thought i wasnt going to get anything. It was only 2 weeks before my wedding that something was thrown in to make up for it.

BUT every RH is like this, none of them include a fondant cake and all of them have basic buttercream cakes. You can upgrade and pay a little extra

Oh i dont care about paying for the cake. thats not a big deal to me. I just felt like i was lied to when they told me about the cake. But thank you for the advice I might just do that pay my cake and get more stations.

Well to them i guess they see it as its a free cake, although they use $250 of your money so not really free and for that money the cakes the provide they feel is fine and for the most part most ppl are fine with them just depends what you have in mind. Before i even went to book with JT, i had seen what other RH's provide and saw that they were all basic cakes, and i knew that none of them would include a madhatter cake which i really wanted so from the moment i went to see them i knew i wouldnt get a cake through them and would go to a completely different vendor. So you can either pay them for an upgrade or go to a different vendor completely, i used cakes by jay if youre interested and he does amazing work plus they taste so delicious and he is great to work with.
