starlight is more pricey actually than body rock and also their other house vendors and well also other dj's too. They use completely different equipment, not regular Dj equipment. They also have concert hall sound and go to your room ahead of time to do the sound for you, the guy who does it used to work doing sound for concerts.

im a JT bride... 10-10-09
i'm in the new penthouse room..
i can't wait to see what it will look like done...
my ceremony is in the skylight room... sooo pretty !!
Yeah. I can't wait to see when it's done either. I hope it's everything I want it to be. Because I really wanted the Dome room but FH convinced me into taking the Penthouse just because it was going to be their newer room. The only thing I was a little skeptical about was the floor. Didn't it look a little odd to you in the pics that they gave.
I can't wait to see the new room either, I am sooo excited!!! Once we saw the new plans for it we wanted JT immediately besides all the other great stuff :)

JT bride too!!!
I am the 1st bride in the new penthouse room =)
A little nervous that renovations will not be completed in time, but after seeing the new dome last week I am COMPLETELY speechless!!!! It is beyond breathtaking <3 <3 <3
The floor which is not yet installed was the one patters/design aspect that I was not fond of. It is too busy for me, and I was originally told that it would not be that busy of a design, but it's looking like it will be. But with the dome on that ceiling NO ONE will even notice the floor =) It is one of the most exquisite reception rooms I have seen =)
April 3, 2009!!!!
OMG you are getting me so excited. how awesome that you are the first in there best of luck yayy!!!

JT was amazing! They were so great the day of our wedding![]()
Everything was phenomenal - and I felt like royalty that day!
I can't wait to see the new room! I'm sure its going to be be gorgeous!!
I wasn't thrilled with their cake choices either but we didn't want to spend any more money on the wedding so we just went with what they had.....It's funny b/c in the end I actually LOVED our cakeI was obsessed with it hahahaha and it matched our room perfectly with the silver metallic icing! Yeah, it wasn't like the cakes you see on TV or anything crazy BUT it was cute and I was really happy with it - and it tasted amazing - we love banana cake so we got vanilla cake, banana flavor in the middle with fresh banana and buttercream icing - it was delicious....

Your cake looked really awesome! I may actually consider that one now with seeing the design in the different color, great choice!
As you can see I'm catching up on this thread and loving all the comments!!!

Wow your cake does look nice. I saw the cakes and didnt like them AT ALL!! Why do they have to have such ugly designs? lol
Edit: What color were the swirls on your cake?? They look sorta blue- but I cant tell if thats the lighting making it look blue or not

i think if you bring them a pic they can do it for you, most designs Dortoni's can re-create for you so i would try that first. If you want color to it or lets say ribbon added to it then i think that they should be able to do

Re: The official JERICHO TERRACE thread
i had them do the design in a 'silver metallic' - and then the cake was white.....it looked really good - like i was shocked b/c i thought i would hate the cake b/c i hated the cake in the books (just b/c they weren't 'my' style - i wanted something like you see on a cake tv show
) so i was really happy when i saw it
don't get me wrong - its not like the fanciest cake but it did photograph well and it looked really nice in person - it matched with our reception really nicely - it totally fit in.... and we actually got a lot of compliments on it - so i was shocked hahahaha....so if you don't want to spend extra on getting the cake from an outside vendor they can work with you to make the cake more what you like - if you get a nice cake topper and change the color of your design it might work out to be something you end up liking - and your florist can even do something with flowers if you like that look - i wanted a plain and sparkly looking cake hahaha....i loved denise's mad hatter cake - i really love those cakes - and i would have loved to have a silver metallic one but we just didnt want to spend any more money at the end hahahahaha so we went their cake and it ended up being cute so it worked out for us.....

Re: The official JERICHO TERRACE thread
Question on recommended vendors:My FSIL is getting married at the Inn at New Hyde Park and there if you book a rec. vendor, those vendors' dinners are half price. Does Jericho Terrace have any deal like that, I can't remember. I can also just call but figured I'd post it on here first.
TIA!

If you book 4 or more JT vendors you get a sushi station at your CH. I also heard you can substitute the sushi station for something else though.
BUT JT vendors eat free, non-house vendors are half price

Re: The official JERICHO TERRACE thread
First off this is the best thread ever it has been so helpful to me within only the last 2 days.So onto my dilemma, I am deciding between Starlight Express and Sound Explosion which is a dj company on Staten Island that my sister dances for. I'm pretty sure from what it sounds like that they are giving us a pretty good deal. We are getting 2 rotating spotlights, cocktail hour music, 5 hours of reception music and a percussionist for $2300. When we went to see Starlight Express I think I made it seem too much that we def wanted them and they didn't really spend too much time with us, just kind of put on a video and then gave us the price. For all of the additions listed above we got a price quote of $3595, however that includes kinetic lighting besides the two spotlights. Does anyone have any price quotes without the kinetic lighting and fitting with the package we would like? I'm from Staten Island so it's hard for me to keep going back there to find out. I will try over the phone though if I don't get the feedback I need from here. Is there anyway that taking out that kinetics part of the package for Starlight that the price could go down $1300, I doubt it right? Just wanted to confirm my thoughts so we can make a decision on this once and for all. Also, our budget for the dj was around $2200, I don't know if that's unrealistic but I would like to keep it close to that number hopefully, so you can see how Starlight was def up there for us. However, I do see all the rave reviews so I really am stumped.
Thanks so much for your time I really appreciate any help I can get!
