This is not a direct knock at anyone because a LOT of people have done it (in the past as well) and Reg's post just made me think of it...this is a perfect way to do it. Its a pet peeve of mine...so I just gotta put it out there...
There's only 1 L in my name...its spelled I L A N A...I know its confusing coz a capital I and a lowercase L look the same...I am not upset with anyone...I just figured instead of looking at misspellings all the time and getting annoyed I should just say something.
I swear I'm not mad at any of you...I'm just a lunatic
Okay so apparently a lot of us have this problem so I changed the name of the thread to help all of us

E M I L Y yeah...no one ever messes my name up (although that might change now that people are naming their kids things like emmalee and emilley...)

well if it makes you feel any better, FH's grandmother calls me 'jenna' even though it's not my name. She's been corrected 230483043 times but says she likes 'jenna' better. LOL... so yeah after 7 years she still calls me jenna. (my name is jennifer = jen or jenny is ok)
and don't get me started w/ my last name. its been mispronounced my whole entire life! which is why i am glad to be marrying FH and getting an easy to pronounce last name.

Um - my last name is 10 letters. So is my first. It doesn't fit on my NY Driver's License!!! It says 'J I Buccarelli' not even joking!!!
I'm SO excited to change my name to a WAY easier 'Kepple!'

The name's Christina and I don't mind at all that the nicknames CJ and Chrissi still linger BUT I spell Chrissi with an 'i' not an 'y' at the end and I always have. I have two i's and no y after my name so it never made sense to put a y there. I don't mind that people assume the opposite at all except with people that have known me for a decade. Like one or two of my bridesmaids and at different points, boyfriends and such. Also, I really hate being called 'Chris' like in a way that just urks me.

WHY do people insist on taking aperfeclt good, beautiful and classic name and TORTURE their children, setting them up for failure by making it impossible for people to spell it right?
If someone told me their name was Emily, I wouldn't even think that it wouldn't be spelled EMILY. How annoying!
AND btw, I'm J-A-M-I-E, not J-A-I-M-E, and not J-A-I-M-I-E... I know that those are commone alternate spellings, but once I tel you, or once you SEE it, it shouldn't be wrong ever again.
For 13 years in school every report card, interim report and notice I received from school, my name was spelled wrong, even though my parents corrected it with the ofice. BUT, they always got my long *** Polish last name right. ???

My name is T E R R I... 2 R's and an i. More often than not people either spell it with a Y or only one R. It drives me nuts even though I know TERI is actually a more popular spelling. My boss still spells my name TERRY after 2 years of working for her.

I don't get it a lot but sometimes I get Lynda, which isn't the common way to spell Linda but I get really annoyed when someone writes 'Lynn' to me. It's not Lynn it's Lin....

My name is Cecelia spelled with 2 e's and 1 i - not 2 i's and 1 e
But i prefer (and most people call me) Celia or Cee- I hate Ceil or Ceceil

My name is spelled THERESA and my fmil always spells it TERESA b/c that’s the Portuguese way to spell it and she’s 100% Portuguese. grrrr

It's not kristEn, or kristIn or Christine, Christin, etc. It's KristAn
I also get the, ohhh it's spelled with an A? I've never seen that before, quite a lot.
When I was a kid, I used to get so mad that I could never buy those bike license plates or pencils with my name on it at the stationary store. They always had Kristen or Kristin but never Kristan!

ppl always spell my name MARISSA, instead of 1 S. I also get called Martha a lot. I dont know how you get that from Marisa but whatever.

MY NAME IS SPELT WITH ONE EFFING N!!!!!.... so on my SS card and license its spelt with ONE N but on CCs and everywhere else its spelt with TWO and I refuse to give IN.....

I guess I'm lucky because my name is Lisa, so there's really only one way to spell it. But I do get annoyed when people missspell or mispronounce my last name (it's a pretty straighforward name)

Surprisngly, people get my name wrong all the name...not reading it, but when I say my name is Colleen..they say think I said 'Kelly' or 'Callie'
Last name...forget it. If your my friend on facebook you know its kinda weird b/c it has 3 consanants in a row and no one knows how to say it.
I cant wait to get married and have a normal last name!
