The OFFICIAL 'This is the correct way to spell/say my name' Thread!!
Original post by MikesBride2B
This is not a direct knock at anyone because a LOT of people have done it (in the past as well) and Reg's post just made me think of it...this is a perfect way to do it. Its a pet peeve of mine...so I just gotta put it out there...
There's only 1 L in my name...its spelled I L A N A...I know its confusing coz a capital I and a lowercase L look the same...I am not upset with anyone...I just figured instead of looking at misspellings all the time and getting annoyed I should just say something.
I swear I'm not mad at any of you...I'm just a lunatic
Okay so apparently a lot of us have this problem so I changed the name of the thread to help all of us

and i remembered something that does annoy me...my nickname is emm, but since my name is emily, everyone writes it em....not a problem until the 100th time i correct it (or after we have a long conversation about it).

I am the same way. My Mom was crazy when she named me CarolAnn with no space but a capital A. No one gets this. And out of a law firm of 300 people, I share an office with a woman who has the same name but spells it Carylann. Can I ever get my damn mail????

I'm with the other Kriste/i/an's here.
It's not kristEn, or kristIn or Christine, Christin, etc. It's KristAn
I also get the, ohhh it's spelled with an A? I've never seen that before, quite a lot.
When I was a kid, I used to get so mad that I could never buy those bike license plates or pencils with my name on it at the stationary store. They always had Kristen or Kristin but never Kristan!
There were always a lot more 'Kristen' personalized items than 'Kristin'...I'd usually luck out with 'Kris' ones though.
NOOOOOOO WAYYYY is there more Kristen stuff then Kristin stuff!!!! And if there is...its only like that recently because my entire childhood I used to cry because every damn thing said Kristin and my mom would need to make a E out of the I
so there!
I have to agree, EVERYONE spells my name with an I instead of an E! and then you get 'do you spell Kristen with a K or a C'
I let a coworker call me every variation of Kristen for 6 months before he realized it was wrong because I just gave up correcting him (I got Kirsten, Christine, Christina etc etc)

I'm with you guys on this one- People always spell my name Stacy, not Stacey-it drives me a little nutty. But, what really irks me is when they call me Tracey instead of Stacey. Is it really that difficult??!!
SAME HERE - EY not stacy or stacie!

Whenever I am asked for my name for someone to write down I have to say Kristina, with a K. Although, it seems to be more common now than when I was younger. I hate when people call me Christine though. I get that a lot!
