How far in advance of your wedding are you supposed to do the tasting and when do you actually get with the hall to decide the menu?

I honestly have no clue. I've been meaning to call Debi to ask and then I saw them post on Facebook the dates for May, June, and July.

I can't wait for the duck!!! It's on tonight's menu. ...I think you are supposed to do a tasting 8-12 weeks out at the Woodlands. That's what my paperwork said.

The sea bass is amazing!! I did my tasting only about 8 weeks out and it was a little nerve racking!! If you can do it earlier, I would. I actually ended up going to mine in a snow storm! It looked really pretty but was a scary drive! Enjoy ladies!! The Woodlands is beautiful and was the perfect place for our wedding!

I haven't, but my best friend is getting married there and she went for her's recently. She said everything was AMAZING and they had lots of cocktail food to sample as well as the entrees.

Update! Cocktail hour food was DELICIOUS. Probably my favorite part. I completely agree with EAY213 - duck and sea bass were delish!! I definitely wasn't crazy on the chicken dish they served...some sweet potato hash was with it that was pretty crunchy and bland. Not a fan. Steak was decent too. I don't think we are going to put duck on the menu since I'm not confident people will like duck as a choice instead of chicken. But the General Manager told me if that's what me, my mom, and MIL wanted on the night-of, then that's what we would get. I have a feeling the food is even better at the actual event!!

I was reading the menu for the tasting and the chicken dish just sounded boring compared to everything else! I feel the same though...even if I end up loving the duck (FH LOVESSSS duck) I don't know if I could put it on the menu instead of chicken. I guess we will have to see.

hii I was at the tasting too!!!!!! My sister and fiance actually loved the chicken! I loved the bass and filet. They do tasting the first Wednesday of every month. I am happy to hear they can make duck for our parents if they want, because my fiances liked the duck.

Point system??? Huh??

I think it was brand new when we booked... in January this year. if we see a certain number of house vendors and book them we get to choose a free add on.

EAY213 Posted:

What the heck! I don't remember getting that option! I'm using 3 of the house vendors...

correction...4! I just emailed them to ask about it.

I actually have a business card with the info at home, but they didn't mention it at the tasting last night. Margaret is the one that was helping me with that but she is no longer there, i hope they are still honoring it.
