Least favorite: Little picture frames... I never reuse them and they never seem to match my decor.

Most favorite: wine charms -- you know, those colored rings that go around the bottom of your wine glass so you know which one is yours.

ABSOLUTE favorite: candy, cookies, truffles -- anything I can eat on the way home!! Never wasted and always loved

I dont think anyone is meaning to hurt anyone here that might be doing a favor we may not like.

Really if they love it then thats what matters.

Im doing little wine rings inside the name tag crackers and I know that not everyone will like them but i love them.

we are also doing a wine stopper as the give away.

Honestly, I wouldnt care if someone mentioned either of them on here.

I just gave a warning bc ive seen this MANY times where it turns bad, people say ugh how is anyone doing this...hopefully it doesn't happen, but everyone reacts to things differently

Like i mentioned before, ill find use out of a favor...for example you mentioned wine stoppers, i don't drink wine so i would just give it to somebody who does, like my MOH lol

yeah these things get outta hand sometimes but people have to stop being so touchy! we are here to help other brides and give our opinions...if someone doesnt like it then dont reply or dont post lol simple as that! if i dont like a post i just dont reply usually! lol

I recently got a bottle stopper at a wedding and a shower (in the same week, different people). It was useless to me because I have about 35 of them left from my own wedding. Guess I have to drink a LOT of wine!!!

i have every favor from every wedding and shower i have ever been to. i use most of the mothers just sit on my shelf but i always keep them

i see u'r concern but.. everyone here has been pretty tactful in how they mention their likes and dislikes.. and heck if i had been planning on giving a crystal heart thingy that i thought someone would use and then found out that most people use them to dump ashes.. i'd be happy to know that so i didn't buy that..

as for the mugs..my point i think is like the poster who got the cute keychain but didn't wanna walk around with the bride and grooms names on her keys.... lol. it's not a matter of whether or not u can put it in the microwave.. i just used that to help describe it.. (ipersonally dont drink coffee and rarely drink tea cause it stains u'r teeth and makes ur breath smell) but the point is here is a mug with u'r names on it that unless i'm ur mom, sis, bff, or grandma.. it's just not so useful. unless u smoke.. then i guess u can use it as an ashtray.

The worst favor I received from a wedding was a flower bulb. It was wrapped in a plain box....no cute little poem or cute flower pot that even indicated it was made for planting. My sil and I opened the favor when we got in the car and we were like....what is this an onion!!!!!

Okay, so everyone has me thinking about my own favors now.


My wedding is during the Christmas season and my theme is poinsettias. So I found these crystal heart shaped dishes with a poinsettia design from Mikasa. [pic in album] Since my wedding is the first weekend in December, I figured people could use them during the holiday and then pack them away with the rest of their holiday decor. I had planned on one per couple, but am now wondering if I should pair it with something else (more practical??). Especially since I doubt the single guys would care about them. So, what do you suggest?

I was thinking I could either pair the wrapped box with cookies, chocolates, etc..... or, I could wrap the dishes in one color paper for the ladies and do something entirely different for the men. If so, what would compliment them?

I've seen cookie cutter favors before for different seasons. You could attach a recipe for cookies to those and people could use it to bake for the holidays.

although i love the poinsetta theme, id' be hesitant to hand out crystal plate anything since folks have mentioned that they use them as ashtrays.. maye a small poinsetta plant.. my mom always love those things.along with the story of the poinsetta ad a story of your an your fh's love..
