I posted on my FB status that i just saw prices of photo/videoo and it makes me sick as joke and I got alot of responds. Many of the post were 'hey, I have friend' or have someone (friend / Family) tape it.
I noticed alot of you aren't booking video? Can I ask why?
People are suggesting to have someone tape it for you at no fee (like a friend, family) is that a smart idea?
Should we go with freelancers? I am trying to stay on budget and if i can go under budget lol I know I am asking for a miracle here but a girl can try.

FH really wants video - I think I can take it or leave it. I see both sides of it - pros and cons.
We haven't discusses pricing with anyone yet, we have a meeting with a photog right after Christmas so we will get a better idea then.

I know how your feeling, but I thought of it this way, its something that you get to keep forever and something you will look at forever. So for us we went with the photographer we loved and then will cut back somewhere else if need be.

Thanks for all your advice. I am going to make appt with DJ Tommy Tunes and ADA Studios and see what up with that package.. i have my fingers crossed

I actually just met with ADA and Tommy Tunes this past week- the package isn't that bad if you are willing to take the lower end of their packages for each vendor.
We are looking to use both Tommy Tunes and ADA but go with individual packages for each as photography, photojournalism, videography and the entertainment are important to us (2nd/3rd most important on our budget list after our RH)
Tommy Tunes is giving us a great deal $3000- a pianist for cocktail hour, jazz trio during dinner, DJ and MC during the rest of the reception, our monogram on the dance floor, and color kinetic lighting on the columns around our RH since we are not doing any of the fancy strobe./flashing club light effects.
ADA quoted us $6000 for 12 hrs of photography, B&W photojournalism, videography including 1 vogue B&G album, 2 vogue parents albums, all proofs, 5x7's for the BP, 2 5x7, 2 8x10, 1 11x14, 1 16x20 colorized photo, engagement picture session and gust book with all of those photo's
Alot of $$, but i think the quality of their work is well worth it.
