This is what my family in Italy had to say after seeing my e-party pics

'Wow, Marisa got that FAT'

Well, that's how my father delivered the message to me when he got back home from his trip on Monday. (Thanks, Dad!)
I have definetely gained about 15 pounds since I last saw some of them and I'm petite (barely 5'1'), so it shows quicker on me. I'm usually not sensitive when it comes to my weight, but that one stung a little

My italian MIL is the same way. When she was looking at tapes from years ago of me and then at the wedding dvd she was saying wow you changed so much so much bigger now.

I had gain 25 pounds from last I saw grandmother when in HS. The only other time I saw her again before she die, her first comment to me 'boy you got fat!' Nice last memory!

Its not only Italians, my family is from Trinidad they do it too..the first comment is usually about weight.

Ha... my FMIL made a comment about how I 'had plenty' around my stomach when she saw a bikini pick.... after much thought and discussion though, i chalked it up to her feeling satisfied that I will be able to carry many granbabies...
