Today I went to my Mom's house to do a few things but MAINLY to check on the RSVPs as they are going to her house. I also check her answering machine in case any important messages come and/or someone needs some information. Upon checking the messages, Mom recieved a phone call from the dry cleaner that there is a tuxedo she hasn't picked up since April of 2004 and that if it wasn't picked up by a certain time, it would be donated to charity.

That was my father's tuxedo and the last time he used it was for my cousin's Bar Mitzvah. It was the last time my father used that tux and the same day FH met my entire family. Now normally, I'd be saying 'Oh Mom doesn't remember things well.' OR 'I can't believe she waited so long to get this thing.' But I am thinking 'WHY did I go to the house and WHY is this call coming in NOW?'

The first thing I thought was 'I guess Daddy is telling me he wants to come or that he will be there'

My wedding is BLACK TIE.

I am not a very spiritual person nor am I a religious fanatic but during the entire process of planning this wedding, I said to myself, I hope there is some sort of sign (or signs) that my father will be at the wedding. People are always saying 'His spirit will be with you and I know that but I was looking for something more definitive. I think this was the first sign. I may be reaching but I'm going to go with it as Dad's RSVP.

Awwww Leslie i'm crying at work!! I think you are absolutely right - I think he's saying he's ready to be there for you!!!

You have had so much heartache and you are such a strong wonderful woman!! I know he will be there with you and i think this was a beautiful sign of that!!!

Leslie, please believe and KNOW that the message was from your dad. there are strange things that happen that we as 'thinkers' try to explain away, but the simple fact is something has to happen to us when we pass, and I know that one of those things it that we watch over those that we love.

your dad knows...he knows how you must be feeling now, and he wants you to know....he is looking forward to seeing your joy.

Sometimes I look up, say 'I love you' and wave to my lost love....let dad know you know he's around.

I'm here all teary eyed because I know that definitely was a sign. What a wonderful thing to receive at this time. You're definitely daddy's little girl.

I try not to get too personal here... but I lost my dad - and I hope for signs all the time.

I am so glad you got yours. I know what it must mean for you.
