Those who admit they HAVE a president named BUSH!

Original post by Xelindrya

since I live now in a hugely democratic state I expect some push back.

I never said I *LOVE* Bush
I never said I *SUPPORT* Bush in everything

But he *IS* our president

For that I am starting this thread.. and I'll continue something like this for as long as it takes for other posters here to understand that to ridicule our government at any and every possible chance is actually insult to some of us.

(omitted rude and uncalled for religious remark I made. My deepest apologies)
That is my honest opinion.

Im not a hard core republican, Texan or not. I admit I voted for him but then again Kerry was Scary in more ways that Bush to me.

Its just giving me a sick feeling that this is such a very rude environment for all out political fanfare of mud slinging, name calling and exaggeration.

Most posters here show decent respect to religions of any and all forms here but seems that LIW considers ok to have all out murder and smear about Bush.

I'll bet I can prove this theory but showing that in the first 10 or less post (or none) that someone will say something degrading about the FEDERAL government. Not just Bush cause last I heard he's NOT KING!

I think it is entirely democratic, American, and patriotic to speak our minds, hold the government and its leaders responsible for their actions, and to not allow injustices to go unnoticed. It is NOT very 'American' or patriotic to support someone even when they do things that are harmful or negligent to the people they are supposed to serve. To blindly or ignorantly follow someone in the name of patriotism is the very antithesis of the beliefs this country was founded upon.

And, in your original post, a good reason for separation of church and state was nicely demonstrated. Two very different things to discuss or criticize government versus religion....

Having met Clinton in person, I thought he was incredibly sexy. Not in a 'he's so sexy looking' kind of way, but he had this aura that was so appealing...

It's as close to making Jewish jokes in front of Jews and it's really really offensive to me.

Yikes - this comparision is in really poor taste!

In addition - America was meant to be a place where we were allowed to question our governing body, hence the freedom of speech thing.

In addition I think you just perpetrated the crime you accused everyone else of!

I agree- I met him at a state fair and he also spoke at my CCNY graduation last year. The crowd went nuts for him.

People are born Jewish. Bush chose to run for political office. When you decide to be the leader of the country you are freely opening yourself up to praise AND criticism.

I've learned the hard way not to talk politics to anyone! People get very touchy about it! All I will say is that this country is in BIG TROUBLE and we need a way out!

Without the ability to VOICE OUR OPINIONS AS LOUD AS WE WANT, we are NOT Americans. We have the right to giveth (their offices) and we have the right to taketh away

My father fought to defend this right. If I want to say I dont like BUSH politics, I have that right! Hmmm. I don't like BUSH politics.

By the way, in this LARGELY Democratic state, I hear Jewish jokes EVERYDAY and NOBODY apologizes. If they don't apologize, why should I? Considering there are more Jews in New York (WHO VOTE) than there are in Israel, It is truly frightening.

ok.... i DEEPLY dislike Clinton in soooo many ways, but i have to admit--- SERIOUSLY there is something sooooo sexy about him (maybe its the 'cigars'.. who knows )

... and i also have to admit to having had (many) dreams that .... well, i'm sure you can figure it out

Could that symbolize my Repressed, inner Democrat cryin' out for some love?

I understand for you Bush bashing gets you worked up like religion but unless you've spent MOST OF YOUR LIFE defending your religious beliefs like I have..these 8 years of Bush are no comparison in the grand scheme of things.

True
I apologize humbly you are most correct. I admit I was upset. No excuse and I won't even pretend it is one. I am sorry.

I have to say that you are QUITE the lady for posting those words. It takes a big person to do that. I think it is wonderful to be passionate about something. Thanks for recognizing everyone's right to be equally as passionate and your apology is appreciated.
