Ok. FH and I are having a hard time deciding on a favor. Here are the options.
1. A CD, burned with all songs from the 40's that will be playing at our wedding. It will have an image of the ballroom and come with the pocket sleeve for the CD. Will be done in wedding colors.
PRO: Would be a fun gift for the guests as I don't think people give out music from the 40's a lot.
CON: Very Labor Intensive - I have a 300 person wedding (ETA)
2. Godiva Chocolate Favors. We can get an extremely good discount on them (hence, the reason why we want to do them). They are gold, which matches color scheme too. We'd get the 4 piece.
PRO:Because of the discount, the favors would come out to be the same, and we'd be doing the four piece instead of the two.
CON: Doesn't do much for my 'wedding theme' - other than the color. And I'm adding that I have an issue when at weddings and other functions, guests open up the edible favors...and eat them!

normally I am a big fan of the edible favor. however, given you theme, and the fact that most movies have soundtracks. it would be perfect for your wedding to have one as well- I think it would do a lot more than the chocolate would...and this is coming from a confirmed CHOCOHOLIC!
I agree totally. I received a CD at a bridal shower recently - and it helped me with wedding song choices.

FH leans towards the other gals. but i think it is more because of the possibility of getting something big for a low price.
the only other suggestion i have for myself is possibly doing the CD favors for the rehearsal dinner... 'Rehearse With Me...The Best is Yet To Be...' kind of thing.
see now, you could do the opposite and give the chocolate to your nearest and dearest that the RH...
alternatively, what about trimming the Godiva order to two chocolates...have you decided how you are doing the placecards....I was thinking of giving two chocolates in a pillow box as the place card holder. and then you can use the cd's as the favors.
then it could be also linked to your theme in some way...I mean, who doesn;t get snack before the movies, right

I think if you give someone a great edible favor (Godiva) you shouldn't be upset they eat it at the wedding.

I am a fan of anything edible! I know the work & time that goes into the CD's. I just did then for my SIL baby shower & they are VERY time consuming!!!

Gimme the Godiva girl! I love the idea of a cd, but you are right when you said they are labor intensive. You are going to have other things to focus on and stress about as the wedding comes closer. So why not give the chocolate (which most will love!) and save yourself the time and effort. Chocolate transcends all time eras, so it fits into your theme!
