I consider myself to have formed an online realtionship with many of you
With that said.... Is it me or has anyone else noticed that its the weddings that spent $$$$$ that get considered to be the best wedding ever but the ones that did not cost as much $$ or at lesser known places dont get the same raves.
This is not a personal attack or anything...just an observation, not only from myself but from other members who some of us havent even realized are not posting as frequently anymore...
I really htink that its time we all realize that its not the place, the flowers or anything like that that make a wedding beautiful. When u look at the pictures..are the guests smiling or is it just a pretty room...seriously...what do you think makes a wedding beautiful?
P>S I am not trying to start an argument or anything..just curious...I have gotten alot of FMS and just wanted to feel out some of my fellow brides & B2B's!

There was not a single word in my thread that was attacking you. It was me trying to understand yoru original post and what I quoted seemed to be what you were ultimately talking about. I was offering my interpretation and my thoughts on the topic at hand. Just because you think other people are attacking you doesn't mean you need to read every post with that tone. There was nothing negative intended by what I said.
However, when you say, 'i dont care if anyone responds or not, that was not my point.. and for the record I have a whole lot of responses so thats not what my thread was about either 'JannShari,' it seems like you assumed when I said something about the underdog that I was refering to you. I wasn't. I do think, though, that by putting my name in quotes, it came across like you were being snotty - if you were not, then I apologize - it's just like I feel that you're reading something into my post that wasn't there. You cannot start a thread and ask for opinions and then tell people to stop posting when you don't like what you see and when people question your post to try to understand it better.
And frankly, if I see a post to which I would like to respond, whether you've decided that you don't want people responding to it anymore or not, I'll do so.
heehee - I'm going to instigate just b/c I can't resist and say JannShari is my new hero

JannShari..please SLOWLY re-read what I wrote.
I said..That its not about responses, the thread that i started was not about if anyone responded or not to mine. Meaning that what you are refering to is not what I am talking about.
that is the problem. Everyone jumps at everything without being clear as to what the issue is to be discussed.
Istead of assuming why dont people ask questions..like I did...
At this point whatever.

To be honest Mya...trying to understand what your post was meant to be about...what you wanted us to be honest with...IS the confusing part... You brought up so many things, reviews. posts, money...it is hard to weed out what you want us to be honest about?

And personally i think this is offensive...
You said plain and simple expensive weddings get 'best wedding raves' and less expensive get little raves?
That is SOOOOOO wrong.

I don't think anyone on here bashed anyone - you asked for honesty, and that's what you got. I still - truly - don't understand the purpose of this thread.
You agreed with everything the post WAS about, so you dont understand it but re-inforced her views??...so maybe read all of the posts so you do understand because everyone was writing nicely until you said a few times you didnt see the point of this and why bring it up?...WHY would you bring THAT up? I cant stand when threads get negative, there is NO reason for it at all..
If you dont like a thread , move on, opinions, good and bad I believe are always welcome, but if you simply dont like a thread, why would you post on it??
What is YOUR point?? If you actually read the thread, you would have seen that I'm not alone in thinking this thread is completely rediculous and quite frankly, uncalled for.

OK, now that definitely sounded snotty to me.
I was trying to be clear. I didn't assume anything. If I was incorrect in my statements about what I thought it was that you were trying to get at, instead of saying what it's not about and being defensive, why can't you simply state what it is about? The original post that I quoted -- you asked if anyone noticed that some people who had a lot of input into their wedding didn't post reviews and that you didn't want to name names -- you made it about other people's reviews, or actually, their lack thereof. You changed the tone of this thread just as much as anyone else.
So instead of trying to clarify things, you get defensive and tell people to stop posting. Somehow, I don't think that will make things any better or help any of us who are confused and genuinely trying to understand what it is you are bothered by or curious about.

Re: Time for LIW brides to be honest
To all,
I am one of those guilty non-posters. I am more of a lurker though I try to change that, let's face it. I need my job so I cannot sit on here all day(though I would absolutely love too).
The reason why I ever post on a wedding review has nothing to do with where the wedding is, it has to do with the person posting it. If someone writes a paragraph, I am not usually going to post anything other than congrats to you because they gave me no detail. On the other hand, if someone like Bethsiar(sorry to use you as an example) posts this insanely long review with massive amounts of detail(which I plan to do as well, I am not mocking you), I am going to post something more lengthy. I have to say that I am at the end of my planning but I got some really great ideas off of her review and her pics. That is what I love to see, lengthy reviews and tons of pics !!!
So that's my justification for my rave posting on certain weddings.

I really didn't see anyone getting 'beat up' (which, on a message board is a foreign concept to me) over anything on this thread. Disagreements...sure. Beat up...nahhhhh!
