To do or not to do photo booth?

Original post by berrie1121

Thinking about the possiblitiy of a photo booth. I really like it most for the idea of the scrapbook for the wedding. But I'm concerned that it will keep people away from the dance floor and away from enjoying the wedding. Thoughts and input appreciated!

I would love to have one at my wedding but I don't know if I have room in my budget for one. How much are they to rent and where can I find one?

do itttt! it was a hit at ours. I loved the booth we had and we received a hard cover book in the mail a few weeks later with all the pics from the night. one of my favorite momentos from the wedding.

I found a special for $850. It included:

4 hours of photobooth time with attendant
Black-White and Color Option
2 pictures
Guest Signature book
Online gallery
CD of all pictures

There was a cheaper package for $650 that didn't include the signature book or cd. Most packages are around $1,000 to $1,400 but if you search out a deal you can find it for much less.

PERSONALLY FOR THE MONEY THEY WANT AND THE AMOUNT OF TIME THEY ARE THERE, ITS NOT WORTH IT....YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN SCRAP BOOK WITH YOUR WEDDING PHOTOTS THAT YOU PAY FOR....THE BOOTH IS JUST AN EXTRA EXPENSE......I HAVE BEEN TO A FEW WEDDINGS THAT HAD THEM....PERSONALLY ITS TACKY AND TAKES AWAY FROM THE BRIDE AND HER BIG DAY....THE FIRST WEDDING I WENT TO, NOT MANY PEOPLE USED IT AT ALL AND MY FRIEND SAID IT WAS A GIANT WASTE OF MONEY.....BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, MY OTHER FRIEND DID IT AND PEOPLE WERE WAITING ON A LINE FOR IT AND YOUR RIGHT IT TOOK AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE DANCING AND ENJOYING THE REAL REASON THEY ARE THERE.....ITS TOALLY UP TO YOU AND THE LOOK YOUR TRYING TO GET....

HOPE IT HELPS.

its a personal preference. if you h ave the extra money for it, go for it.

I think it's a personal preference. I'm getting one because I can't wait to see all the crazy pictures that I don't think my photographer could capture. They had one at TWOTY and we had a blast with the photo booth and pics are sooooo funny. Most places rent it out for 4 hours and most people of they see a couple of people waiting they'll dance until it frees up.

I highly recommend Facebooth. Peter is one of the owners and an absolute JOY to work with!! I booked them for my October wedding and while I had received a groupon deal - they are under $1000 normally and I think it will be completely worth it. Not everyone I know dances and as someone mentioned above, it's great for the older crowd who wants to goof off. We could have bought a scrapbook through Facebooth but instead we are providing our own for people to add their photos, etc. I'm so excited!!!
