Re: to hyphenate or not to hyphenate ... this is my question

I've always been a little 'I don't think I should have to take the guy's name' (maybe that's my politics showing through!) but I do want us to both have the same name.

So we're both changing our names and hyphenating them so we'll be the 'Marx-Shermans'. Odd sounding, I know. But oh well.

Another reason for this is that we are both the last of the line. He has no sibs, and my two sibs have different last names. So we both want to carry the name on!

I am taking his last name.

my whole life I felt bad bc I am the last of my family name, then my sister decided not to change hers so I have no guilt now YAY!!!

I love FH's last name. He has it tattoo'd on his arm (and he has great arms) above his name is his late mothers inital. Her name is Susan so he has S and my soon to be last name.... I would never take the recognition of his late mom. But I do like that it is there already.

my name actually rhymes ... kelly lipareli

so I have waited my whole life to change it!! CAN NOT WAIT!!

LOL like Julia Gulia in the wedding singer.

I will take FH's name cuz it would be too much to hyphenate, plus our last names both start with W. There would be too many W's and L's tongue twisters if I kept mine.

I don't want to keep my last name...it was changed by my grandfather under pressure from my grandmother to separate them from the rest of our family and cut them off from them...if I change it then the name will die with me and I think its better for that kind of negativity to die off.

BUTTTTT....FH's last name isn't spelled like it...but it is pronounced SKANK!!! I'm thinking of just telling people its pronounced the way it looks...FH always teases me and tells me he's going to marry me and make me a skank and then I look like this

Oh no!
