A friend of hers and FFIL was on our invite list since we started planning. Said friend has been her friend for over 20 years. They went to her daughters wedding, and more recently, her other daughters engagement party. Recently, her friend told her that she will not be coming, so do not even send an invite.
FSMIL wants us to send an invite anyway, but her sister said not to.
What do YOU ladies think??

Re: To invite, or not to invite??
Mine is not a destination wedding, but I did have friends who had ones, and even though they knew I could not attend, they still sent an invite... obviously that is a bit different, but still.
Personally I figured I should still send one to be polite.

I would send it. A friend of mine told me that he couldn't come when he received the STD but I still sent him one.

Re: To invite, or not to invite??
Tough call on these.. bc if you knwo someone cant attend and you send an invite anyway its almost like they may interpret it like you are sending it bc you expect a gift.. but if you dont send it then its sort of rude.
then again if someone knows about your wedding, and that you are planning on inviting them but they just cant go, they will know to send a gift one way or the other and they shouldnt feel like by sending an invite you expected a gift.
So I say, send it anyway.

Re: To invite, or not to invite??
I would send it. Is the lady trying to say don't invite me so I don't have to send you a present?

Re: To invite, or not to invite??
IMO this is one of those things that can be answered by asking your self do I want to be right or do the right thing I think to do the right thing you should send it.
