To Receive or NOT To Receive....

Original post by MrsMichel07

Are you guys doing a receiving line at your church?

Ideally at what point do u think we need to go around and visit our guests at the hall

I want to maximize my party time.

no receiving line for me. we are having the ceremony at our hall...and we want our guests to go straight upstairs for the CH while we do pics. i think sometimes receiving lines can get too long...people want to talk and forget there are like 100 people waiting behind you!! i don't mind doing the table greets at the reception.

i dont know if i have the time to do a receiving line, my church starts at 330 with mass and theres 500 mass that night,, what should i do??

how many guests will you have? also how big is your BP? will they all be in the line? i think you might cut it close with a receiving line, pics, and such if another mass is starting 90 min. later. IMO i would nix the receiving line and just do some pics...since a mass wedding can take up to an hour....and many times weddings never start on time. so if your wedding starts just 15 min. late...you'll only have 15 min. to do a receiving line!

We havent decided yet on the receiving line-but we will most likely walk around and say at least hi to everyone during appetizer duet course...my friend did it this way and they partied it up the rest of the night
