So, I was under the assumption that these are two things that you register for. However, I don't really like any of the flutes I have seen at either store I am registered at.
Is it weird to buy these myself? Do I have to register for them???

If you want specific ones with certain colors, flowers, fonts etc...then buy them yourself. If not, wait until your shower gets closer and then see if you can register for some. If not, buy them and see what you get...if you don't get any at your shower, at least you have ones you like.

I didn't think to add on the cake cutting knive/server but I did add on a pair of flutes that I loved from Macy's.

This is something I never thought about registering for and figured I would just save the money.
However, FFIL bought us toasting flutes for our engagement and FH's aunt bought us a cake/knife serving set also for our engagement party.

My boss gave me a pair of really simple Tiffany's toasting flutes - she didn't want them (someone gave them to her at her wedding)...I was like SCORE!!!!
Not sure about the cake knife, I am having a small shower and i don't want to waste a gift on this, haha, I would rather have something I need like a vacuum!
