Today, I broke and entered...

Today, I broke and entered...

into my house. I made quite a display out of it, too. Loud, banging, slamming...

and NO ONE batted an eyelash. Complete strangers walked by and watched me walk up to my door, and start pulling off the molding from the window on my door- then slide my hand in, unlock it, and walk in. (I got locked out)

So, I guess it's time for an alarm system...

Re: Today, I broke and entered...

The first floor windows of my parents house are at least 7 feet above the ground, so whenever I got locked out my neighbors and passers-by would always see me balancing precariously on the back of our porch furniture and then my little legs kicking and flailing while trying to hoist myself through a window.

One time, my dad got locked out and he paid some neighborhood kid to crawl in through the kitchen window.

Another time my dad asked the lawn guys to give him a boost.

Locking up and remembering keys is sort of a new concept to my parents. For years there was always someone home at my house, especially with 8 kids around!

That's funny and kinda scary at the same time! The same thing happened to me last week. I usually keep my keys in my purse all the time, but the night before I put them in my pocket when I took Golem for a walk and foret to put them back in my purse. Diidn't realize it until I was around the corner from my house! At first I freaked out, but then I remembered that Craig was able to get in through a window one time when he was locked out - so I got in through the bathroom window. It's in the back of our house and surrounded by fence on all sides - so no one was able to see. I was making a bit of noise though, slamming the window open then climbing in and jumipng down into the tub once I was inside! I was so scared that my neighbors were going to call the cops on me, but no one even noticed at all - and I was shocked at how simple it was to 'break' in to our home! I'm just an amateur who had a puppy waiting insode to be let out.... I shudder to think how easy it would be for a determined pro. I make sure to check for my keys when leaving the house now!
